Of course, we get this reveal the night I finally get my shipment of Combiner Wars figures. I guess I usually buy every Hasbro release anyway, even if they're later replaced by Takara's versions on my display shelves.

Went digging,
found this.

From TRU

Item: 316077
TRA DEN DLX WILDRIDER
Original Retail: $16.99

Item: 316069
TRA DEN DLX slingshot
Original Retail: $16.99

Perhaps they are TRU exclusives? That would make Hasbro's "16 deluxes for 2015" still true if they're only talking about mass retail and ignoring retailer exclusives in that tally.

Following up from my previous post, I took a closer look at the scan and the Katakana in red reads "Unite Warriors", possibly referring to the name of this toyline, suggesting that it's another new line rather than part of the Legends line.

Also kinda sounds to me like Takara's attempt to use some variation of the "Combiner Wars" name.

Talk about extremely convenient timing on the TRU listings for Slingshot and Wildrider.

However, isn't Hasbro still unable to use those names?

The internal store listings don't always match up with the name on the actual packaging. It could also be a case where adding Autobot or Decepticon, or perhaps Aerialbot or Stunticon, as a prefix solves the name problem. I'm hoping these are legit and not just another fan with too much time on his hands. It IS curious, though, that Wildrider is parsed in all capital letters, while Slingshot is parsed in all lowercase letters instead. Also, what's with the "DEN" designation. I would expect it to be "GEN" for Generations.

Probably a spelling error. This is from the same guy with all the devasator rumored listings and also found TRU MP substorm listings before it was announced.

We'll see soon enough at NY toy fair

Wildrider cleared for FunPub for the 2011 Animated Stunticons. Slingshot was last said to be "no longer available." Maybe it's an autocorrect error of "Slungskot" (a la Slug and Skrapnel).

Or "Slingblast"?

"Blastshot"?

"Snarlblast"?

I'm not actually being serious here.

I don't read comics, but isn't Slingshot actually dead?

He's dead to me

To answer your question, he's dead enough.

You know, it'd actually be kind of nice if all of the teams had one voyager torso and five deluxe limbs, wouldn't it? It provides a sort of margin of error for that kid or collector who couldn't scrape together the $70 needed to get Silverbolt and the three Wave 1 Deluxe Aerialbots all at once.

I'm also imagining a lot of combinations later this year that involve both Blades and Alpha Bravo as arms...

Seems a bit dubious, but makes me possibly want to hold off on Alpha Bravo until we know for sure. However, he's still a cool figure, and not the type of helicopter I'd want a Vortex release to be. So it could be a tough choice. Still, as a first wave figure, he shouldn't be too hard to come by. Not to mention they are only just starting to show up in Canada now.

Don't worry alpha Bravo, I still love you. Releases of those two are welcome but I can't help but wonder if they might be toys r us exclusives as they won't matter a jolt to the fiction as slingshot is as dead as dead can be (which is surprising really since you would think that more than him would of died giving that prowlastator tore him a new one)

I wonder if this will come in a gift set or separately. Either is cool - a gift set would look AWESOME, but really, Slingshot is the only one I absolutely need...
I don't absolutely need Slingshot, but would like him to free up AB so Optimus will have a flyer on his team!

Hope the TrU listing is true!

We haven't seen the Arcee / Chromia / Windblade wave in Kansas yet. /sigh

**Edit** I suppose that means I'll see Combiner Wars around March 2017

Thank you hasbro for finally listening to the fans. Or should we really be thanking takara ? Also could this mean my suspicions were right about alpha bravo really being blades in an already mixed wave ? Bad news for belzeboss, but maybe they can design a groove figure instead now.

Even if the slingshot/wildrider info pans out, I still love the look of the TT version. From Superion's chest armor down to Skydive's wing decals, it just has the right look

i'm glad we're getting these characters.. i predicted we'd get them as repaints.. it's a shame that they're repaints.

$16.99 is such an unbelievably ridiculous price for figures like this it's incredible.

Looking closer at Takara Slingshot, I hate to say this, but he seems to be a more-or-less straight redeco of Firefly, possibly with a different head (pre-tooled or not). Then again, that was to be expected no? >:oP

And the new name should be "Quickslinger", look at Kre-O and Bot Shots. Make him a clone of Slingshot if that works for you guys. "Wildrider" is a curious case though. BotCon shouldn't really count because some names expire within a year or two, plus FunPub has a nasty tendency of using names that haven't necessarily technically cleared legal. Personally, I'd hate to see "Brake-Neck" used, but the earlier proposed replacement name "Wildracer" would suit him much better.

The name of the line is indeed "Unite Warriors" and they're using the original Japanese names for the guys, not the US ones. In a nutshell:

- Firefly/Fireflight is called "Firebolt"
- Slingshot is called "Sling"
- Air Raid is called "Air Rider"
- The rest remains the same

Oh, nice! I knew Takara would pull off a much more cartoon-accurate Silverbolt. And the Aerialbots look much better as an all-jet team.

I'm thinking the same thing. If they are straight redecos, then I think I rather get Alpha Bravo and Offroad. I was gonna call them Slingshot and Wildrider anyway.
