The last wave of CW surprised us by coming up with a completely unique and new mold (Sky Lynx) completely out of nowhere, and given Wave 5's Voyagers are minor retools, I'm fully expecting Wave 6's Voyager(s) to be completely new.

I was simply pointing out that the rumour instead being about Titan Masters is a distinct possibility now we have the precedent of TM re-issues.

Oh, that's true! I'd totally forgotten about Sky Lynx, and it is true that the Wave 5 Voyagers being minor retools might indicate a greater likelihood of new molds (or at least extensive/engineering retools a la Hot Spot to Onslaught) in Wave 6. Either way, I'll be happy to have a Snapdragon to go with Apeface, be it as little Titan Master buddies or hulking Voyagers. Though I still remain somewhat unconvinced that they'll get Voyager figures (in this line at least, who can say beyond that), those are some good points that keep me hoping maybe it will be the case after all!

What can I say, I'm an optimistic pessimist.

Know what? Think I'm the same way :)

On a completely different note, something I haven't seen anyone mention on this thread yet is that Perceptor's scope apparently actually has a magnification gimmick. And it's not just a magnification gimmick, it's the exact same as the original toy - because it re-uses the engineering from the Platinum re-issue.
This is how G1-replicating crazy the current design team is (thankfully, this example is frikkin' awesome). A new-mold toy in 2017 directly re-uses unique engineering from a toy initially released in 1985. What a time to be alive

Someone should try shining a laser pointer through that scope, it could make for some epic photos.

Really, who fits the Triplechanger aspect better for wave 6 than Apeface and Snapdragon? I mean, they're out of old molds to use since the first five waves have all had double uses aside from Galvatron (Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain, Alpha Trion/Broadside, Optimus/Octone, Megatron/Blitzwing) there's really nowhere left to go but new. I suppose they could do the old standby theory of Straxus from Galvatron, but is that really the figure that should be should be sending out the line? Feels more like an eHobby thing if we ever got a TM Straxus.

I can't wait for the Wave 6 Voyager to be triple-changing Bumblebee.

If the wishful thinking of the 2018 line containing some animals comes into play perhaps they might be flexible in the line gimic enough to make an actual Titan Master compatible Ape Face & Snapdragon in 2018 - and likewise follow up on the Prime Wars 1.0 gimmick with the Seacons & Terrorcons too. I'd have no objection to that variety even if it means making them as platinum sets instead of mainline toys.

I've said this many, many times, no matter if, how, or when we get Predaking, Abominus and/or Piranacon, as long as they are compatible with the 2015 CW/UW line I'll do whatever it takes to obtain them.

Hasbro confirmed that there will be no outright titan master compatibility for the toys coming out in 2018.

From hasbro's Q&A

When asked about whether Titan Master features might carry forward in to Power of The Primes, it was explained how the specific play pattern would be ending with Titans Return

Didn't they say they're replacing the Titan Masters line with a new series of small figures at the same price point? Seems strange to keep doing tiny figures, but not keep the play pattern going. I guess that means Leader class will drop the base modes which I'm really fine with, maybe we'll get some more complex transformations instead.

I picked up six shot yesterday at Target. Can I just be whelmed by the figure? He looks awesome just standing there, but there's no waist articulation (a recurring problem with leaders), the helmet continues to defeat the purpose of the gimmick and it is not fun getting the little guy out, the weird ankle articulation, and the super long wolf neck just leave me feeling meh.

And mine stands up just fine with his legs straight or bent for now plus the stickers all look good. I saw Megatron at the store and his stickers looked to be coming off already.

I think you're kinda meant to leave the head in for all the modes.

But what about the wolf mode, where the TM is designed specifically to fill in a hole in the beast head?

I mean, I'll probably be leaving the head in the helmet all the time once I get mine (damn you, Australian shipping) but it has been designed - at least in one alt-mode - to incorporate the TM otherwise.

Just picked him up over the weekend. Taking it nice and slow through each mode. Just (overly sarcastic air quotes)"Submarine Mode" left to go. He WAY exceeded my expectations. Which is always nice.

P.S. You can see Revolver in his neck in the pic. ;)

Amusingly, Wolfwire actually looks way more deadly! He looks athletic and has actual teeth, while Sixshot is this big lug that appears as if he could only gum you to death. Metal gums, sure, but gumming nonetheless.

Admittedly, I'm always rather happy when TR toys have the option of keeping the heads on for transformation. As much as I love playing with all the little guys, it's also kind of nice to be able to ignore the gimmick if one wants to. I agree with you though, and I think a good example is Galvatron actually - the fact that the Titan Master has basically nowhere good to go in cannon mode makes it feel like the gimmick isn't intended for that mode, at which point I get frustrated that it's necessary to take the head off at all if you can't do anything with the little robot. :BANG_HEAD:

Overall though, I actually feel like this line has done a pretty good job making the gimmick relatively unobtrusive. And I mean heck, I still get a fair bit of 'childlike glee and wonder' out of having all my Transformers be piloted in their alt-modes - even if the gimmick can be frustrating sometimes, it's still way fun for the most part!

I think on the deluxes that they did a very good job, but I've been disappointed with the voyagers and leaders because of too many gimmicks. It's brought great, rare characters to the line but the triple changing compromised at least one mode of each one.

Absolutely agreed. My initial interest in the line was just the G1 Headmaster updates, but Blur and Scourge showed me how out of the way the line wide gimmick was going to be. And for that, I am super happy, because I dont have an interest in updates of old figures just because they have some new gimmick. I like the TR figures because they are quality figures that don't let a gimmick get too much in their way. This is a line that really executed the gimmick well, and kept it from being the overwhelming feature of toys that traditionally aren't Headmasters. Not all entries have been winners, but they've all been well done.

I think I have to agree with this as well, but didn't see it when I made my last post. My experience with the Voyagers so far is limited to Galvatron and Astrotrain, and while Astrotrain does fine with the head gimmick, Galvatron's is a problem because of that stupid mask piece. Astrotrains' train mode is a dud for me, but the triple change gimmick for Galvatron is very weak. The jet mode is a fine fanmode effort, but as an official transformation, it's pretty bad. It does remind me of the Energon/Cybertron third modes, for toys like Skorpanok and MEgatron respectively, but those were also basically fanmodes that made it onto the back package photo. I understand why they forced third modes on some of the Voyagers, because they needed to maintain the TM play pattern, but the third modes are quite weak, at least for Galvatron. Alpha Trion looks like a mess no matter what the mode is, and I don't own him, but I'm not one of those people who believes I must own something to have an opinion on it, and I am more than comfortable in my assessment of Alpha Trion from a distance.

He's also more barbarian than old sage, but he's fun to play around with.

Because you arent supposed to leave the head in for all the modes. If Chuck read the instruction he would know that.
In wolf mode, you need to remove the head to fill out the wolf neck.
In tank mode, submarine mode and car mode you have cockpits to seat the titan master and drive the vehicles.

So no, you arent meant to leave the head in for all the modes, but you can for those who dont want to bother with the gimick. hasbro finally gave us the perfect incorporation of the headmaster where those who want the added playability can do it and those who dont want to wont be annoyed by it. there are many flaws with this toy, but the titanmaster implementation is by far the least problematic.

Me too. Fort Max seems to like the upside-down submarine mode.

Um, I did read the instructions. In fact I've read them several times because there's always some little rotation that I miss, usually with the shoulder wheels. I know about the wolf neck and I don't think the gap is that bad. For the vehicle modes I'll leave the cockpits open, or use another Titan Master. Six Shot was the first leader I handled that you can leave the head in, and the hardest to remove the Titan Master, that can't be a coincidence. I think it's a lovely nod to folks like me who were kinda miffed that the first update to Six Shot in years was a Headmaster. If you use the gimmick great, but if you don't that's fine too. FYI to anyone that cares, I always read the instructions, even these horribly printed TR ones.

You know, I've been meaning to bring this up. What in the 13 Primes is going on with the instructions lately? They are completely illegible. Who ever is designing these graphics must have dropped out of their community college graphic design 101 course, day 2. How they got the job baffles me.
The choice to print them in grey scale with no white is atrocious and goes against every principle of composition in visual communications. It's like trying to read a book printed in black ink on black paper. Just simplify, PLEASE! Black, red, blue, anything. Just lines printed on a white field is the perfect contrast for the viewer to interpret the images.
I don't let a lot of whats wrong with these toys get to me, but the incompetence that has gone into the design of CW and TR instructions sheets drives me BAT **** CRAZY!

End rant.
