The new Silverbolt looks very similar to the original toy, but the wings are quite a bit different. They can finally fold down and hang on his back instead of being wings coming out of his robot mode neck. They don't have the spring loaded missile launchers, so they were able to make the wings much better. I love the original Silverbolt toy, but the wings drove me nuts. I can't wait for this one.

Great Call! My focus was so much on the similarities, that I completely forgot that, even after noticing that we lost the whole wing flap gimmick--- but I can't say I'm disappointed. Here's hoping that we have a nice scaling between him and Black Arachnia

I think you guys are a lot of cold water on what has been an exciting start to a new Transformers series, especially after IDW2,

I want to comment on that scene where Optimus is shooting Teletran. The pose communicates his feelings of inner confliction of having to destroy a friend for the greater good. So a combination of having to get the shot off quickly, awkwardly and regretfully, because he doesn't have time to think.

.... and what the hell with the deer scene?, you can barely make out the deer, at least from the preview. I hurriedly pulled up the preview after hearing your disgust... to see nothing. I was expecting Optimus to be draped in entrails from the way you were reacting!

I humbly request, because every forum comic based seems to be highly negative, even in the midst of MTME, just what you guys are looking for in the perfect Transformers comic.

Anyway I enjoyed the stream thoroughly...but don't get too crotchety guys.

I am very excited for the new comic to start and have been optimistic about where they are going to take the brand. I am happy with how Skybound is handling the franchise and looking forward to what else they have in store for us. Please don't think everything is negative on our side, but I was hoping we provided both sides of the coin- what we liked and disliked. Again I know everything is subjective, and in the fandom everything is somebody's favorite thing- I mean its hard for us to even distinguish what "G1" even is- is it the Marvel Comic- followed by GI Joe and G2, or Marvel Comic and Re-Generation One, is the UK Comic- or are you a cartoon guy- well does it go Season 1-2, Movie, Rebirth, or is it Season1-2, TF2010, Headmasters....
... but I digress- I have really enjoyed what Skybound has done so far- Void Rivals has surprised me to the point where I originally thought I was purchasing it just to "complete the story" however with the TF nods they have I am looking forward to what else is in store. My pull list at my local store has been updated for the Joe Books so I don't miss a thing in the new universe, and I hope that they have a great run and another epic story line so we have something else to argue about what is really G1-

I concur, I think our friends have gotten a tad crotchety. Really enjoying Void Rivals and this new Transformers comic, I have nothing critical to say.

I don't disagree with you about being a bucket of cold water/wet blanket, it's something I try to avoid but something about the blocking of those pages of Prime enjoying nature only to then accidentally wreck it just struck a nerve. Felt unnecessary, cruel and uncomfortable while also making Prime look like a bumbling idiot that's never been to an alien planet - but there's a counterpoint there that these were only pencils, so that could be the point! I do hope the new series ends up being good and will stick with it, just getting a weird vibe from the first issue + 5 pages or so of issue 2. There's an edge to it, this element of excessive violence that feels out of place in the immediate moment. There can be a place for that and it could be used as an opportunity to tell a compelling story - maybe not the most original story, but a compelling one.

That's only applicable to Skybound TF for me, at least at this moment. Some "written for the trade" pacing issues aside, I've been enjoying Void Rivals quite a bit and its larger world building is keeping me generally optimistic.

Sorry for the negativity but do remember, I'm only one dude, and maybe one that's been podcasting for too long.
