Transformers Zone Singer Ichiro Mizuki Passes Away at Age 74

It's with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Ichiro Mizuki on December 6. He was 74. He'll be remember by Transformers fans as the singer of the opening and ending theme songs for Transformers: Zone. He revealed in July that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer that had metastasized to his lymph nodes and brain, this followed partial vocal chord paralysis he had been receiving therapy for since 2021.
Mizuki had the nickname "the Emperor of Anime Songs" due to his 50+ year career singing songs for many well known anime titles as recently as 2021, many of which were based on giant robots and heroes. His credits include several Kamen Rider and Super Sentai titles, Getter Robo Go, Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Lupin III: Part II, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Combattler V, Star Blazers 2199, Go-Lion, Voltes V and Tiger Mask II to name only a few.
