I have the first TF Monopoly from 2007, and it is a great set, and fun to play, still has the old style cards and original rules (mostly). There have been a couple different TF sets since then, none of which interest me, but THIS ONE does. It pretty much has the 1996 look and feel all over it, I'd definitely get when I can.

I really like the look of this, especially the retro box, but I just can't stand that it's the smaller board with less spaces than traditional Monopoly.

by TOO MUCH ENERGON!
The box art is pretty much the same as the Beast Wars Mutating Card Game from 1997.

I’m one hundo percent all over this when it’s available in Canada.

I'm very glad... but also a bit confused about this.

On the one hand, Beast Wars was what introduced me to the franchise, and I still believe it's one of the best Transformers cartoons ever even despite its age, so I'm always glad when it gets some love and recognition (especially given the last decade, with Hasbro completely forgetting the 20th-year anniversary and leaving Takara and FunPub to pick up the slack). And using the original boxart is certainly an unusual but very pleasant surprise; makes it feel more like a celebration of the line as a whole instead of just the cartoon.

On the other, though, my slightly OCD side kinda has to ask... why? The last milestone celebration was last year; wouldn't it make sense to release it then, or in another 5 years for the 30th anniversary? If it's to raise interest in RoTB, why not use the movie designs? It just doesn't make much sense marketing-wise to me.

Does this mean we should expect other continuities to get their own Monopoly games, like UT or Aligned?

Better Look at Tokens and Cards in Beast Wars Monopoly Game

Thanks to a listing from Toysnowman, we have a better look at the Beast Wars Monopoly set. We can see the tokens really well and discern some cool details. Dinobot, for instance, seems to have the robot mode based on the Masterpiece toy. And the cards refer to moments from the show. It is $70 CAD. Below is a product description with images.

Monopoly - Beast Wars: Transformers Edition Board Game

It’s Maximals vs. Predacons in a battle for the Golden Disk! The Monopoly: Transformers Beast Wars Edition board game for kids ages 8 and up is a must for Transformers fans. This 2-6 player game features gameplay inspired by the Transformers universe and iconic Transformers artwork.

Race to take control of key locations and powerful spaceships, obtain Stasis Pods, and wield the Golden Disk! Properties include Bio-Dome, The Ark, and Floating Mountain, and instead of houses and hotels, this edition features Energon cubes and Energon crystals. The player with the most Energon wins the game!

So, Beast Wars Season one had 14 characters. This game has 14 pieces. Only seven are deemed worthy of being included. The Predacons being represented by just three of those...

"Something feels amiss?" As Dinobot would say.

Really it's only 7 tokens (which is about right for a monopoly game if I recall correctly) as they're only doubled to show off alt modes. So it's only 4 Maximals vs 3 predacons. Which isn't a big deal? I mean playing this game you're going to be at most 4 players, so you're not all going to be the same faction, especially with card effects being different.

The numbers don't really matter so much as the selection. No Rhinox...

I would have bought the thing for the little pewter figures alone. If they had been characters I had interest in.

I'm sure this has come up before, but is it Toys Now, Man or Toy Snowman? Maybe it's the Canuck in me, but I always read it as Snowman...

It becomes pretty obvious when you go to the site and see their logo.
