I completely agree, Sumo. Special Ops is a completely different beast when it comes to 'Bots. Jazz and Bee (besides being taken already) were never in the running. Punch (even if he were available) I doubt I could to properly.

There are no stabby 'Bots (except Stiletto who doesn't have a proper bio on TFWiki)

I'm beginning to think the 'Bots are really actually goody two shoes :-P

Arcee can be stretched to sniper in the right circumstances, however I won't play her (it's the expectations most people have of the damsel in distress character that was in G1. I would be a disappointing damsel in distress). Otherwise I didn't pick up on any available characters that were available that fit. That's why I wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

If the mods would let you the IDW version of Arcee is a far cry from the damsel in distress as is most of the fembots. If you want a stabby bot who has an attitude, there is Blades of the Protectobots. He does well in aerial combat but definitely prefers up close and personal with his swords\rotors. I've got nothing for the Protectobots to do right now since I have Hot Spot and First Aid. I'm posting for them right now arriving on the bridge of the Guardian.

Mirage or Chameleon would be my thoughts in this arena.

Yay! Thanks, Sid. But do you know which thread Getaway should be in?

I think he was last seen on the Guardian (at least that's where a brief search turned him up in December of 2017)

Anywho... About Arcee... She's a funny one for me.

I seem to remember Roddy wanting to rewrite her profile and it was a no go. However, I was a preteen in the 80's, I have the damsel in distress version burned into my brain.

I was also not keen on the Simon Furman/IDW version of her (don't get me going on Furman.... ) Though she was a much much more likeable character after John Barber got ahold of her.

It seems like a lot of times female characters are either damsel in distress, have to have a boyfriend and don't fight well (G1 Arcee) or are the extreme opposite, angry bitch who fights everyone for no reason (IDW Arcee).

I do think Transformers Prime got Arcee the best...she wasn't my favorite character, but she was actually a decent representation of a real woman. Tough, didn't back down, but wasn't all rage and hate. Cautious because of the losses in her life but still able to let others in. She was no nonsense without being crazy woman. Most importantly she didn't need others to define her, she did let her past define her a bit though.

As I thought over it, I feared I'd take Arcee somewhere between Prime and IDW. A little tougher than Prime, less crazy than IDW. Sort of exactly like how Nightbird turned out in my hands.

Don't get me wrong, I love RPing Nightbird. I just don't want to do an Autobot version of her (it seems like lazy writing on my part to me).

I'm going to continue mulling over my choices. I didn't realize Mirage was free... I somehow skipped right over that on the available/taken list. And honestly, Chameleon sort of works for me. Having never watched Beast Wars, I had to dig for Stiletto's alt mode. Not sure if bird is the way I want to go and she might be a little too introverted for the 'Bots.

I probably should be sleeping though :-P

He was last in the medbay of the Guardian, having previously been injured by the events of Sea of Change.

Freq, all bots aren't goody two shoes. We just have effective spies and all our bad boys are big guns blazing :P
See: Impactor, Repugnus, Sunstreaker, Dinobots, Blades, Kick-Off...

Apologies for my lack of presence. Homework has been beating the hell out of me this semester. I have one very stressful week yet to go, but I can see some of the light in the tunnel.

I do like writing my robits and want to get back to it for the stress reliever it usually is. Bear with me.

In other news, the Decepticons effort to destabilize the world via Syria appear to be working, if watching CNN or the BBC is any indication.

I'm in the same boat as Sid. I have some 6 projects due within the next week and a half, so I'm just slowly working my way through them. I'll put up a quick post or two when I get the time.

I'm starting to get a handle on my new schedule so I'm back for the most part. I'm going to try to set a day aside to get most of my posting done, and trickle in the rest as I'm able.

Hey.. my apologies for not posting on the Semper Tyrranis thread (I'm thankful no one was needing me to post, I'd hate to have anyone cursing my name more than usual :-p )

Work has been crazy, so I didn't even realize a new thread had been started for it (I mean waaaay crazy for work and a new boss determined to scare the snot out of all of us. Woman needs to learn how to properly use email too, geez). But I promise to move around my chess pieces very soon, watch out, Mayhem could be attacking anywhere and everywhere :-D

Happy holidays!

I edited my latest Counterpunch post in the new Semper Tyrannis thread, so it seems more coherent now :)
