Mattels pulse..erm not pulse...event schedule:

11:15am PT/18.15pm UK time for MOTU on the 21st with Sy-klone becoming available

https://toynewsi.com/241-52048

Would have been nice if Sy-Klone was in a two pack with Spin Wit :P

*also if anyone in UK wants a horde of horde troopers, zavi is is doing the origins trooper at £13 each (£3 postage)

https://www.zavvi.com/merch-action-figu ... 25303.html

just glad they havent done masterverse versions yet otherwise I'd be spending more.

new images for some motu stuff

https://toynewsi.com/241-52059

Mikey is definitely being customised into mikey at arms using dons body. I'ts just kind of weird, not that turtles havent had hair before...TMNT trolls style.

Tmnt Skeletor looks okay if nothing special.

Cartoon evil lynn looks about perfect.

Revelations Hordak is just another bad dull design :( even snake teila looks a bit bland, not sure if she is revelations or not.

***and holy shizzle, cartoon Cringer just besides Adam, revelations crap you are forgiven plus I might be able to get classics queen a bit cheaper now

Nothing really unexpected in that batch. Going to continue to pass on the cartoon stuff unless it hits clearance. I do want Cringer, I'll probably have to buy Adam to get him. Decided not to get the TMNT stuff unless I can get the exclusives first (have yet to see any of these in stores yet despite a month of sightings). I'll get the Masterverse stuff.

"Revealed" didn't have a whole lot to see, they spent way too much time just explaining the lines like we're all new to this and then the whole thing with the stop motion which could have just been a YouTube video, didn't need to be here. Only real reveals were future MC exclusives. Surprised the new crowdfund didn't launch today, they haven't given a date, they only briefly commented on it. I did get to order two Sy-Clones so there's that. Apparently they're doing a bunch of reveals next Tuesday?

Yup, very light on the reveals and just as light on products they were selling. Thought it was presented pretty well though.

Origins demo man and geldor will be nice adds. Not sure what the purchase limit will be on the masterverse horde trooper (kind of another weird choice as it would have sold well at retail).

Ordered just the one syklone and if I'd have know snout spout was still going to be instock I could have saved a postal fee. The fall catologue on Tuesday should be better for the reveals.

I'm thinking the Hord Trooper being exclusive is a direct result of the Origins version still being available at retail price despite being a troop builder.

ToyHax did an Origin Castle Grayskull sticker set out of nowhere. It's a good one, but also $35...

https://toyhax.com/labels-for-motu/8562 ... skull.html

And BBTS has the Mega Construx Point Dread set for only $15 this weekend. Ordered myself one since it matches well with the Roton set that I already have that includes Battle Armor He-Man and Battle Cat. I doubt I'll ever get Castle Grayskull itself, but this is just fine on its own.

And this is why i cant buy transformers anymore...Mattel

All the masterverse stuff looks great besides revolations stuff (seriously, another bad duncan!), but Movie Beastman!!!!!

https://toynewsi.com/241-52149

Battle armor skeletor and thunderpunch he-man will also must.Bone throne dang it.

Origins

https://toynewsi.com/241-52148

Think I'll go for cartoon Spikor :) Worryingly i might want three of the collector vehicles.

and more tmnt and hordak looks good (its so hard to screw him up yet revelations managed to)

https://toynewsi.com/241-52150

I would have gone brave with April, Teila will make do as barbarian April but I'd have done a battlecat as April from catwoman of channel 9. I honestly might skip her as the sorceress.

Snout spouts on his way and some snake troopers but no rokkon yet (and looks like my bank did screw me over on the free figure with eternia, oh well).

So now you're deep enough down the NA rabbit hole, how about some ratings?

Skeletor Voices

Alan Oppenheimer: 10/10

Campbell Lane: 8/10

Brian Dobson: 7/10

Frank Langella 9/10 -hey if Mark Hamill can use joker voice, Frank can use Frank voice?
Extra point because he had to do it through prosthetics

Mark Hamill: 0/10 Using Joker voice for every hobgoblin and his dog doesnt cut it for me. Still my second fave joker but with how often he uses the voice he may slip to third.

I think Ben Diskin/Netflix does a great job and actually sounds like the oldest skeletor, I'd give him an 8.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PExOunz7So

I still think NA had more good ideas that it kind of wasted and didnt really go anywhere. Sadly NA at the bottom of my list of Motu shows but I've not finished Netflix motu yet (and will never watch the Kevin Smith and friends thing). Can kinda see why revelations didnt follow on from NA or original Motu with half of the episode end messages being anti drugs :P

Was interesting to see Skeletor helmetless for the last X episodes after his helmet got caught in the cog (and with Keldor like hair too! Rather than a will shatner toupee, so that was interesting to see where Keldor got his retcon style from).
I need another Optikk figure because the classics/original is good but not even close to the onscreen look. Plus slush head wears a tux more than once -so it's definitely figure worthy :)

Nobody seems to like Ace Duck April.

I'm pretty happy with all of the Origins and Masterverse stuff. The New Eternia stuff all looks really good!

Since we're getting a Snakeman based on Viper tower can we expect figures based on Grayskull and Eternia Towers? Maybe an Origins Castle Grayskullman will finally happen.

Well, my two Sy-Clones arrived today. I only knew they were coming because I was getting updates from FedEx for a "PADC" shipment and it was the only order I had made. Funny thing is I got an arrival notice from Mattel Creations at 1:01 and a "Your Mattel Creations order has shipped" email at 1:02.

I know there were complaints about Sy-Clone being a little wide compared to regular figures to fit the spinning mechanism, but I can honestly say that in hand he looks fine.

Not really paid any attention to sy-clone reviews but it does look a good figure.

My Rokkons arrived and it is a little bit on the small side for a planet destroying comet guy. Looks like classics (or potential masterverse) might have been a better buy to go along side the origins figures. Nice to have him though and now I've got to find my the rock figure for a head swap on my second rokkon. Even if the head is too big it will kinda fit in with the masters of the wwe.

Talk about art imitating life imitating art, Rey Mysterio's entrance costume at Wrestlemania 40 was a green (Philadelphia Eagles colors) version of Stratos who Rey was based on in the Masters of the WWE Universe line. Can't wait to see if Mattel makes a figure of this, either in the main WWE line or in the Superstars line. Video below comes from the designer himself who confirms the inspiration.

Whenever I buy something to keep boxed...

I thought they had changed the shape on the cartoon packaging for a moment with it having a weird jutting out angle, until realising the bubble isn't sealed and it's the comic poking out. Damaged on the bottom too. Got my uno which arrived in perfect condition, just awaiting say-clone now.

Yeah, I've had that happen with a few figures before, too. It's really annoying because it's still glued to the comic ruining it, not just poking out.

Fruitful trip to Target this morning. I've been keeping an eye on the second Sun Man three pack knowing it would either go on sale or clearance eventually rather than buying it new. Well, this was the time, it on clearance for $25, a very good price for three MOTUO figures.

But this, this was a bummer and the reason why I haven't picked up any of the Turtles of Grayskull figures:

20240426_080404.jpg

I'd only seen Mouse Jaw in stores for less than a month and now they're gone for good.

I did see the cartoon figures for the first time, two Skeletors and a MAA with a reissue She-Ra, but for some reason they were on the pegs on the opposite wall hanging from a Pokemon peg, no idea why.

I take it, you've finished NA now? As I've always said, I know I'm an outlier for this show being my He-Man. It's not great. But as a fan of pulp sci-fi too. It ticks more boxes for me than other series.

Clicking on the link, I agree. Ben Diskin is a really good voice for Skeletor. I take it, that is from the recent stylised CG MOTU?

Circling back to NA. Now I assume as you've seen the fate of Skeletor. You get my meaning at the implication of this concept art design for NA's next season:

That said, all it takes is for the season after Revolution to be subtitled "Invasion" and you could easily add in the Galactic Guardians and Space Mutants.

It definitely feels pulpy and in a good way. Some of the western like episodes felt a bit bravestarish. NA seriously lacks a steed and that bird thing doesnt count.

Yup :) £20 for the complete CGI series on dvd on amazon so I might cave, even if it is just dvd.

and as for the fate of skeletor at the end of NA, I can't see him merging as such, more likely I can see him settling down and having kids -Mario Bowser style and after them hearing tales of mean old he-man they would arrive (in airships...) to take on he-man.

Yet that design certainly has elements of the pair of them, as well as the ship. Without the Havoc Staff (Does Skeletor have power without the staff? :-? ) I saw this more unhinged Skeletor doing whatever is necessary to survive.

Also I like the idea that the concept art for "Season Two" was a Tournament Arc. Which would have been a first for MOTU.

Maybe one day, Mattel will release such concept designs as figures ala what Hasbro are doing in the Studio Series?

I'm surprised he isn't in deluxe packaging, I guess he's being treated like a normal figure, hope he's priced like one.
