At it's price, I'm curious as to how the quality compares to Masterpiece TF if anyone knows?

Just like any SOC style release by Bandai........................awesome! MP can't be compared to it.

Thanks, I have my original Super Valkyrie VF-1S and I know the companies had changed a couple of times. I stumbled across when looking for something else, and put it on preorder. Looks too awesome to pass on.

Hey guys. More 30th Anniversary Robotech stuff. BBTS has preorders for 1/55 Scale Alphas. $130 each or a set of 3 for $370

Do you all know if the Masterpiece line was 1/55? I'd love to replace my QC riddled Scott Bernard Masterpiece...

Also, I did finally get my 1/100 Robotech 30th Anniversary set of 4 Veritechs. They look really nice in the box. In all the collecting I've done, I believe these are my first 1/100 scales...

I got the 1/100 VF-1S because I have a hunch it's the same figure they did years ago which if that's the case I hate to tell you that these 30th anniversary Alpha's are probably the same as the Masterpieces.

BBTS Email wrote:Hello,

We have been informed by the manufacturer that they will not be producing the TOY10628 Robotech 30th Anniversary 1/55 Scale Alpha Fighter - Scott's VFA-6H Alpha. Unfortunately this means we must cancel our preorders for this item. We do apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding. If this product is re-solicited in the future, we will be sure to publish it on our website once again.

Thank you for shopping with BigBadToyStore and have a wonderful day!

So, in case any of you were re-considering getting these. I was going to get the Blue Alpha to see if it was better than my original one that sits with my Beta. But, alas....

Ahhh Toynami. FYI I was right the 30th anniversary 1/100 figures are the exact same figures we got 10 years ago. Of course mine broke when I was trying to transform it, utter crap. With that said I can't remember ever seeing the armored valks so I might pick one of those up.

Yeah, I have one of the armored ones on pre-order. It's probably the only thing I do not have represented in my Robotech collection.

Wait, I'm still waiting for a decent Hovertank...

For whatever reason I never pulled the trigger on one of the armor sets in the 1/48 scale, I regret that now

How did I not realize this little gem of a thread existed?

Anyways, if you're a Macross fan, then it's time to start saving your pennies for the next wave of financial slaughter in the form of Macross Delta. From the trailers, it's a little too M7 for my tastes, but at least the hero(ine) Valk looks promising:

It's actually got more in common with the SV-51, as far as the chest transformation is concerned. Well, not really, but its kinda similar.

But technically speaking, it's a "descendant" of the VF-25/29/30 models from Macross Frontier as well as the Macross 30 game (a Japan-only game BTW, because Harmony Gold).

The YF/VF-19 family of Valks have more of a "uni-boob" thing going on, while the -31, like the VF-25's and later models, have a rather convoluted folding mechanism for the chest.

The only thing Agrama is missing is a villainous mustache for him to twirl while he cackles in his office.

HG basically wants to play the highwayman and force BW into paying them ridiculous amounts of money to sell Macross merchandise in the US. I suspect it also entails BW allowing HG to bastardize its more current Macross series into Robotech flicks. But as one would expect, BW told them to shove it.

And in this age of the internet, anyone can simply order from online shops like HLJ and AmiAmi. Sadly, there's nothing you can do about the video games except learn Japanese, I guess.
