Both me and my friend bought this set. We saved just a tiny bit on the expensive shipping, but each sets of 6 were still relatively cheap at around 85$CAN shipped.

Unfortunately, some vehicles suffered some damage in shipping. Mainly because of a design flaw. EVERYTHING is made out of a very hard, but breakable plastic. So some parts like "frog eye" headlights and that one antennae were broken on arrival. I didn't bother making any claims choosing to instead repair those with a drill and some Crazy Glue. The fixes were easy.

I ordered from Toyhax two sets of "cartoony" :CON: to apply on the bots. Once the stickering and fixes were done, the review can finally begin.

Right of the bat, I find it absolutely genius that all the dongle-wongles of the combined mode and the guns can combine into a tank for the vehicle and bot modes. Sure, the tank is a clusterfuk but it works.

Image

The tanks are all adorable, Metal Slug style. No wheels at all under the threads but they slide easily on a smooth surface. Each bots are completely different molds. Not even the arms and legs are the same.

All the bots are "chibi" style. Their transformations are pretty similar, but with differences. Posing is basic and the bots are super stable. They hold their gun well.

Group shot featuring a modern deluxe. I say those Chibi tanks are mostly like the OLD deluxes.

The combined mode is easy to do and the instructions are clear. The final result is a bot that looks both adorable and intimidating. However, the combiner head just barely rest on his shoulder and there's some "looseness" issues in the "ab crunch" and a bit in the hips. Not as overall loose as a Combiner Wars. This result in limited poseability like a Combiner Wars combiner. Still he stand tall and proud.

The thing is more massive than a CW combiner.

Overall, for the price paid it is a very, VERY good set. It can be found at Sirtoys, AliExpress, and Ebay for various prices. Despite the relatively fragile hard plastic, all toys felt solid in hand and I never feared to break anything appart the things that should have been made out of rubber like that antennae on one bot and those "pop out" headlights on some tanks.

TlDr; A solid purchase and very fun combiner that feels FRESH.
