This is true. There was only a few months when I was around 18 that we didn't have a cat. Even after I got my own place I'd still go to my parents and spend time with the cats, and now we have our own.

After you got that robot, was there ever a similar time where you didn't have any robots in your life?

As for cats: when you are used to having that animal member of your family, it is so hard to not have one in your life

There was probably teens to early 20s where robots weren't a major part of my life (that was probably band and then leaving school/starting work). They may not have been on display but they were stashed away under the bed.

I, too, was once young, skinny, and blonde. Those were the days, though for me back then, it was a little more M.A.S.K. Than robots.

I don't think M.A.S.K. even made it to town. Though I would like a couple of the toys some day.

I always highly recommend them. Here is a photo of me from around the same time:

I somehow missed Burn's picture, I was under the impression cameras didn't yet exist around his childhood and thought he was just waxing poetically about the good old (old old old) days

I have to admit I'm jealous. I wasn't allowed Transformers when I was that age. They were "Boys toys!" closed I got is a picture of my brother, and his birthday party with all the Transformers theme'd stuff going on.

Updates are slow because ... I have a lot of Optimus Primes apparently.

Took what time I had to spare over three weekends to finally unpack all the Prime/Convoys and get them set up.

When I did I sat back and looked at them and said out loud "Damn I have a lot of Optimus Primes"

Then remembered about the Hyper Surge Prime I have coming from Japan and have no idea where he's going to go!

So anyway, lighting in the room is still crap, and I didn't have time to set up a proper camera so for now, contend yourselves with a video!

Up next is whatever box I drag in.

Dear. Lord. Man.

That is a lot of Prime! Seeing you move, I dread my move next winter

So many primes too. so which one is your favorite, which one is the best, and which is your least favorite?

I'll always have a soft spot for that 100% MIB original release G1 Optimus Prime. While he's not the actual one that I got, I did get Optimus Prime for Christmas as a kid (I actually took a early sneak peak by carefully opening one end). I don't know if I'd class him as a favourite though, but if I were to sell my collection, he is the one item I will NOT part with.

The best ... I have said it for years and I'll keep saying it. Cybertron Optimus Prime is hands down one of the best Optimus Prime molds ever. He looks great in both modes, has a great "power up gimmick" and who can go past big guns?

Least favourite? Take your pick from any of the ones from the last two movies. They do nothing for me. But if I was to really hate on something, it's that modern take on God Ginrai, I seriously **** hate that mold. The ankles absolutely ruined it.

I need to eventually get my hands on an original Cybertron Prime, he does look fantastic.

i thought Knight Prime was cool, but his toys left a lot still on the table.

I agree the ankles on Ginrai are weak as crap. He needed better feet/lower legs

We go from talk of one of the best, to talk of one of the worst.

With Beast Wars behind me, I moved onto TF:RID (2015), relatively easy task as I didn't get many of the figures (that's a discussion for a different time) but after that, came Beast Machines.

Now some of the figures are good, some are questionable, and then there's this.
66379878_10157612142833678_1623348026997211136_o.jpg

I'd previously displayed him in beast mode, and decided to change it up by putting him into bot mode.

I had to read the instructions. The head tucking requires more force than needed.

Turns out that was the easy part.

Getting him to stand is a **** joke. You have to get the legs just right to make sure he balances. There's no quick posing this guy, no, you need to set aside a good half hour of your life.

I don't know what the designers were on that day when they conceived this. But they clearly stayed on it another day when someone came up with the brilliant idea - "Hey! Let's up-scale this figure to Supreme size!"

If you ever have the opportunity to buy this figure. Don't. Just leave it. Walk away from it.

He doesn't look very good to be honest, so if he is as bad as you say in hand, at least his looks help indicate as such

No, he doesn't. Night Slash Cheetor is a much superior BM Cheetor. Hence why it got repainted a couple of times and this abomination didn't.

I managed to pose him with the others, by basically wedging him between Primals so he can't fall over.

Even though I "lean towards the 'Cons" side of things, I am an Ultra Magnus fan boy.

Optimus Prime was cool, but then along came this new guy who looked like Prime, but actually combined with his trailer! Young me was instantly hooked.

In addition to the Optimus Prime/Convoy collection, I also have a dedicated Ultra Magnus collection.

When it came to setting up the collection, I decided I wanted to have G1 Ultra Magnus in with all the other G1 bots ... which meant I needed another G1 Ultra Magnus for the UM collection.

I started off with a good chunk of UM. Cab, trailer, head and fists. Was just missing the missile launchers, waist connector piece and trailer ramps.

Let me tell you ... those trailer ramps are not cheap. I put a request out for parts and one person contacted me about the waist connector, he sent it to me for free which was incredibly generous of him, he wouldn't even let me pay for postage. Launchers came along a few weeks later, reasonably priced.

Which left the trailer ramps, those are not cheap. So I had to be patient.

And one night I hopped onto eBay, sorted by newly listed and there it was, an incomplete UM (missing an entire trailer arm) with ramps! Snapped that up in no time.

When it arrived I pleasantly discovered that it was the rubber wheel variant. I was in two mins whether to restore this trailer and have a rubber wheel variant, or just push on with the plastic wheel variant I already had.

In the end I opted to go with the plastic wheel variant, BUT, I would display the rubber wheel white cab as a stand alone figure.

So yesterday I sat down with a set of Reprolabels and began the cleaning process. Nearly two hours later the trailer was completely cleaned and new stickers applied. This morning I sat down and did the same for the cab.

So without further ado ... here's some before and after pics!

NOTE: This is the plastic wheel cab.

NOTE: Combined robot and rubber wheel white robot

The plastic wheel cab definitely has the better chrome, but I'm not overly worried about that.

I'll get them set up with the rest of the UM's later today and snap some pics then.
