The bot mode is wonderful, but the truck mode imo is just phenomenal. It naturally has the G2 decals which are part of the reason I wanted this version of the mold - OPTIMUS STOP THE ANIMALS LIVE THERE - but in general it's just a really nice chunky shape. It achieves so much with so little and is exactly what I want out of a cab + trailer vehicle. Quite lovely :D

Couldn't get the plane mode into a position where I could take a picture I'd like, but I honestly really like the plane itself. Very goofy and swooshable. Only problem is that the tailfin doesn't lock in anywhere; it just sort of... floats at the back.

What do you mean, the tailfin doesn't lock?

As far as I know, anyway -- couldn't find any way to make it attached. Could be wrong.

Did you compress the armature it's attached to?

Alright, so does it look like this?

Or like this?

At least on my standard release version, it came out of the box half-compressed. You're supposed to push it down like in the second pic for jet mode, and pull it out for robot and truck modes. However, when you extend the piece, make sure it clicks. If it's not out far enough, the joint will be loose, but if it clicks it'll be more stiff.

Just worked out how to do it with those pictures. Thank you very much, you've solved one of the only problems I have with this toy :D

No problem at all! Took me some time to figure it out myself. By the way, where'd you get him? eBay, or did somebody hook you up?

Got him from Jesse Wittenrich; dude who handled the TFCC stuff. He'd gone and bought a Velocitron set to get Fastclash for someone, so he went ahead selling off the other figures -- was able to work out a good deal for Laser Prime with him :)

Ooooh boy.

Been reading through Marvel UK, and I'm finally at the most legendary of stories.

How are the stickers on yours? I just got Chaos yesterday, and the stickers on my Laser Prime are terrible.

They're... kind of okay? There's a few very minor air bubbles and there's a bit of a cut on both sides of the tanker; right next to the wing assembly. It's fine enough for me.

Mine are the same. I hope that Reprolabels releases a set that looks the same. I'd replace them in a heartbeat. I love the stickers, but the quality of them needs a boost.

These two just look incredible together.

Image

Fellow leaders and heroes side by side :D Many are gonna disagree but I feel these are the best versions of the primary faction leaders we've ever gotten.

Also, signed and framed Tom Baker photo in the back partly because I want to show off and because many things recently are helping me get back into Doctor Who after two years of swearing it off.

Welp, it didn't take me long

EXCELLION!!!!! Man, it feels weird to be getting a Cybertron figure after all this Generations stuff. I didn't get many Cybertron toys in my childhood, but I do remember wanting every single thing in the toyline; so it's nostalgic enough :) Helps that he's a Hot Rod homage. Love me some Hot Rodimuses.
I was lucky to find him cheap on Ebay, but that does come with a few consequences -- he doesn't have his missile nor cyber key, there's a bit of wear and tear on some of the paint and he's missing, of all things, his left headlight. But I'm willing to deal with all that since all the other Excellions were way more expensive and this is more than good enough!

Image

Articulation's a bit weaker than I would have liked though; especially after Titans Return and with such a simple transformation. The lack of a knee or thigh swivel is especially notable, as is the inability to move his arms outwards unless you move the shoulders up. But again, nostalgic, and I can make do.

Image

Car mode's glorious, and the cyber key gimmick activating another layer of Hot Rod homage is great. I'm going to Uni in 2 or 3 weeks and this dude's so coming with me along with Bohrok Lehvak as part of my childhood :D

Neat! I was for a long time considering him as my CHUG Hot Rod. I don't know what stopped me really, probably the insane aftermarket costs. He really is a gorgeous looking figure though. The car mode in particular is perfect.

I'm almost tempted to get the Cybertron Defense version, airbrush him into the classic burgandy and orange, and have him as an admittedly rather small Rodimus Prime. Somehow the idea of Rodimus turning into an armoured car makes sense.

EXCILLONT! Great pick up! Love that figure.

despite Cybetron's simplicity, I still believe they are some of the best TF TOYS ever made. I emphasize toys, because that's what they are. Some of the most solid, well built, most fun toys of the franchise.

Edit: That is a cool idea Hat!
and... K, your going back to Unicorn? Unicron? Uni?

totally kidding. I know where your going. :-P

So aside from the limbs for Victorion, Bruticus and Defensor; I've set about the past few years getting a few random Combiner limbs. Due to having an extra Sky Lynx, I unfortunately ended up with an uneven number of figures for Combiners; as while Victorion, Bruticus and Defensor were complete, Sky Lynx had to steal limbs from them if he ever wanted to be fully combined. But thankfully, a week ago something struck me -- since my purchase of Prowl, I have four extra limbs. Which means they're no longer extra - Sky Lynx has a team!

Formed from the best Aerialbot, the best Stunticon, the best looking Combiner Torso, my version of the Dead End mold which best holds together, and the best version of the Drag Strip mold I have (... because he's the only version of the mold I have), I present my fully f-ed up Sky Reign!

Image

I'm gonna have to do a full shot of all four of my Combiners now at some point. I'm really happy I accidentally completed a team for Sky Lynx and I'm gonna have to come up with a backstory for the lot of them.

That looks neat as hell, but the errant grey limb next to the predominantly white rest of the team is killing my OCD.

Still, awesome!
