You know, I thought my life plateud when I was in a room with Stan lee and Stan Sakai and they let me listen to their conversations about Ronald Reagan and the like. Just the three of us.

But then I met you guys and I realized there were more hills of happiness ahead!

Picked up these two assholes on sale. Two of the worst criminals in Cybertonian history -- £10 and £15 each

Image

I'm intimately familiar with the Dead End mold by now thanks to Streetwise, Dustup and to some extent Chromedome. It's a good one, though I am starting to get a little bored of it -- still, preparation for POTP is never a bad thing, right?

Found myself fairly impressed by Sentinel. Not quite as good as Megatron, but still a pretty solid triple changer with great vehicle modes and an awesome robot mode with wonderful poseability. I'm also a huge fan of that intimidating headsculpt, and the colour scheme goes over so much better in real life than it does looking at it on a screen. Orange is one of those colours and this particular colour scheme is one of those ones that you really have to experience in real life to appreciate, like Victorion.

Heroic Decepticon vs. Evil Autobots!

I also got this due to it also being on sale. Limited to 100 pieces? Needs to be used with Fort Max or Metroplex but I haven't got any and it's gonna be too big for anyone else? Dude, I don't care, it's £15!

Image

It's a big 'un alright.

Image

As soon as I took it out the only word I could think of two describe it was 'magnificent'. The translucent red and the colour applications are downright beautiful and the size and shape of this thing is ridiculously cool. I can hold it in my hand and it doesn't even feel undersized there! Such a cool item.

Nice haul K!
I still think out of all the uses of that CW mold, Prowl wears it the best. But I have a Datsun Brother bias.
The train changer mold is fun in any color!

I'll trade you my Fort Max for that sword. WAIT! That won't work! :-P

Ye, I think I'm starting to like Prowl a lot more than before -- though I still love Dustup the most. I think I was a bit unfair in my post there because while it's true I'm a tad bored of the mold, Prowl still wears it very well and his car mode despite being the same as Streetwise's gives off this really cool and unique feel. Also, his leg pieces tab together much MUCH better than both Streetwise and Dustup, so he'll make a much better arm than them once I pull out a torso or two.

I've actually been considering getting Ironhide and Sunstreaker from that wave since they're also on sale for £10 each at the same place I got Prowl, and it's starting to look like POTP might just complete the original 1984 11-strong Autobot Car cast. That'd mean hunting down CW Wave 6 though, and that oughta be fun...

How about giving me Cerebros for the sword? :-P

DEAL! Wait. No. Dang it! that won't work either.
Man, I need a sword for my Max.

I really like Streaker from CW. I swear I'm the only one who enjoys that mold. Iron hide is good, but his head sculpt is a little funny. Teenhide! :-P

I think it's pretty cool that Prime Wars is giving newer collectors a chance at a G1 line up if they want it. I'm realizing that Classics was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away now.

You might be able to find the sword I got from websites selling to Canada and America. It was down from £40 to £15 for me, so maybe sales are taking place elsewhere? I'd assume it's not as popular due to SDCC and Takara's versions of Fort Max.

I've got a strange relationship with the Breakdown mold these days. Usually I don't like it and its flaws shine through; the just-off proportions and the weird chunky legs offset things. But occasionally it looks decent to me and it's in a pose and/or at an angle which makes it look much better. I really don't know what to think about this... but screw it, I'll take it  Especially if it means I get a decent Sunstreaker and Wheeljack out of it. Have kind of been wanting the Universe 2008 Sunstreaker recently though due to that still being how he looks in IDW ten years later.

And yeah, Universe 2008 is almost 10 years old. How's that for a galaxy far far away?

Is that sword an official one, and where did you find it? I remember a some sort of official add on premium thing, but my memory is hazey.

Classics Streaker is great, and I bet you could find one cheap and easy, but the CW one is right down the street.

Yup, the sword's official -- it's a Hasbro Asia exclusive using the same mold as Takara/SDCC Fort Max's Master Sword.
Got it from Kapow as it was down from £40 to £15. Original intent was to have one of the Voyagers wield it in a big-friggin'-sword moment so ridiculous it'd make Cloud blush, but at this point I kind of like swinging it around like the big nerd I am.

Dang! Kapow no longer ships to the states, and an ebay search turned up one for sale at $70!

Thanks for the tip though K. I'll keep my eyes peeled for it. The 3P ones are nice but pricey, and I feel like I've heard the die cast ones are to heavy to wield. My search continues.

Well K, I caved.

BBTS was sold out, so I found it on Ebay from a Chinese seller for the same I would have paid BBTS.
Hope it goes well.

Thanks for the push! :D

I guess it depends on what you think of Jumpstream. If you like her, then it's okay to get Sunstreaker, but if you don't like Jumpstream, stay away from any version of the Breakdown mold.

Somehow I completely missed that entire paragraph.

Also, speaking of that paragraph, I've got that Universe 2008 Sunstreaker. Not a huge fan of it.

Yeah, speaking as someone who's never handled it; every time I see a picture of the mold something looks off about it. There's a lot of things I like - including the base design itself! - but something about the execution is... odd.

Though, and here's a bit of heresy; I'm also finding I'm not a big fan of the 2008 Universe Datsun mold and desperately want a remake. Or use POTP Jazz for Bluestreak. I just really want a Bluestreak I can love :-(

Two main things that I don't like:
1. The shoulders are really wonky.
2. The legs are too wide, and they're hollow from the back.

The mold's okay, but it's not the greatest. I much prefer the CW versions.

Also, if it wasn't so darned expensive, I'd recommend you to get the TFCC 4.0 Bluestreak. Colors on that thing are spectacular.

Yeah a lot of the Universe 2.0 figures are starting to age among the more recent figures. I replaced my Universe Prowl with the excellent CW one. CW Prowl's headsculpt is just :x. Also, I know I say this a lot, but I don't dislike the Breakdown mold. I actually quite like my UW Lightspeed; granted he's arguably the best use of that mold.

Edit: Oh and MP Bluestreak is downright sexy.
