I have some free time so I thought I'd share a few pics from my stash. These are mostly old pics I had taken when I first got started, which was during Combiner Wars.

ImageCW Protectobots

ImageCW Defensor

ImageCW Constructicons

ImageUW Aerialbots

ImageUW Superion

ImageCW Menasor

ImageCW Bruticus. I originally really wanted UW for Blastoff, but I'm very happy with this.

ImageUW Computron. I consider this one of my few splurges since I could've easily opted for the CW version, which I knew I could eventually get for below MSRP. But I'm glad I got this, easily one of my favorite combiners.

Second batch of photos. Mostly non-CW stuff.

ImageI really love the vehicle mode, and the color is awesome. This is my second MP.

Image

ImageProbably my 2nd favorite G1 reissue.

ImageGrimlock was one of my favorite characters growing up, so this was a must have figure for me. Glad I was able to find a gray market version of it. I don't think any other figure has made me as happy when I first held it in hand. Anyway, couldn't help it with this pose.

ImageHasbro MP Starscream, my first MP. Once I picked up TR Astrotrain, couldn't help with this scene.

ImageOnce I got Dev and Fort Max, I just had to have Metroplex. But since I was late to the game, it took me a while to hunt down a decently priced one in the secondary market. Well the hunt paid off!

ImageMy 4 y/o's doing. Glad he didn't break it because I love these 2. The coneheads are my favorite G1 reissue.

ImageI was so jealous of my cousin that had a SW when we were kids. Again late to the game, I was ecstatic when the MP reissue was announced. One of my favorite MPs.

SOC Voltron! My first SOC figure and I'm very impressed. Will add more photos when I have the time to play with it.

Voltron photos with a few of my thoughts:

Image
The lions are just awesome. The legs are far and away my favorite, followed by the arms, with the black lion last. Blue and yellow lions have the best combination of size and weight. Oh, and the lion's teeth are sharp!

Image
Based on forums and reviews, I knew this figure would have some heft to it. Maybe because this is my first SOC figure, but I didn't appreciate the weight of the figures until I held it in hand. Even the red and green lions, which are noticeably smaller, have considerable weight given its size. Despite the amount of die-cast in the figures (the majority of the lion's legs are die-cast), there is an incredible amount of articulation.

Image
Voltron is just glorious. Two things caught my attention here. The first, at the risk of being redundant, is the weight. As heavy as the individual lions were, when combined the weight is ridiculously heavy. The second thing is how sturdy the whole figure is, especially compared to TFs. I know it's in a different zip code price-wise, but there is no lean, no balance issues, and the limb connections are secure. You couldn't even tell it was made of 5 individual lions.

Image
There are a LOT of accessories included, but I don't know when I'll get to them all. But the blazing sword for sure!

What up New York!

Glad to see you came over here to play. And glad you linked on your Voltron post. I'm not sure I knew this SOC existed until you posted the haul. That thing is BEAUTIFUL! All the buzz around the newest reboot Voltron stuff started making me itchy, so I dug out my old 1999ish reissue of the original Bandai toy to see if that would scratch the itch. It did. But, man! If I was going to get any new Voltron it would be this one. Love that he is the classic design, but done better. and that sword BLAZEMAZING!

How tall is he compared to say, a combiner?

Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome Cobo! SOC Voltron is only slightly shorter than a combiner. Next to my UW Computron, it was probably less than a half inch difference. But the weight! It weighs more than Devy, and probably more than Metroplex/Fort Max.

I only learned about this figure rather recently. I had a Voltron growing up, which is now long gone. Watching the Netflix reboot got me wanting to replace my childhood one. I really only wanted one Voltron, and based on some research, came to the same conclusion as you: if I'm going to get a new Voltron, get this one.

This really is a beautiful figure and I highly recommend it. Since this is my first SOC, I can only compare it to other TFs. The price is higher and I can see why. The paint is vibrant, the joints are tight, and everything is just sturdy. And there practically aren't any QC issues. I think this figure will be highly sought after due to its popularity and high quality.

I forgot to mention that with this figure, you have the option of extending the waist slightly. Doing so makes him just about even with a combiner to ever so slightly taller.

OK. Cool. So really he's not much bigger than the original 80s toy. Who is a hair shorter than a CW combiner. I figured he would be bigger, but I like that he isn't. Anything bigger would probably be way to heavy and hard to manage.

I have always liked this team. I like bulls so I think Tantrum looks super cool. I wish I had been a fan when this came out. Here is to hoping that they make another for Combiner Wars.

I actually didn't get this that long ago off amazon. It's still available for $99. I suggest tracking the amazon price. I wouldn't be surprised if the price drops at some point. It's a pretty sweet set despite some qc issues.

Been a while since I've posted here. Added Shockwave and Megatron recently to my MP Con collection. Even though it was a Black Friday special, I still had to wait on SW since Triggerhappy was part of the order.

Image

This photo makes me wish I had the other MP seekers, but I have no interest in paying the prices those command. I even considered tracking down one of the 3P offerings. Better for my wallet if I don't though.

Having a little fun with MP-36 before I start the challenge of transforming him:

Hopefully post some cool gun pics soon.

out of those 4, which 2 are your favorite so far.

If you want the seekers and dont mind buying a ko version of them there is ym or kbb.
they are tighter than the official ones and have a tab to lock the cockpits into the torso
they are only $90.

i have ym thundercracker and can vouch for the quality of them. although the plastic is a bit softer.

it all depends on how you feel about kos

I was withholding judgment until I transformed 36. Far and away my favorite is Soundwave. Awesome in both modes, fun transformation, and a sentimental favorite. The cassettes are icing on the cake. I'm undecided on 2nd between SS and 36. I love 36 in bot mode and gun mode is awesome though not perfect. It probably gets a slight nod for now because of that. The paint chipping sucks, but the real pain is the transformation, which I detest.

I love alt mode for SS cuz I'm a sucker for cool vehicles. The bot mode is also nice. The transformation is preferable to 36, but as someone mentioned, this mold is showing its age.

I looked into the YES/BB KOs and it seemed cool. Are they still widely available at $80? Wouldn't mind filling out the con lineup at 80 a piece.

Finally got around to transforming 36 yesterday, and what a pain in the ass! It probably took me about an hour. I had all those user comments about paint chipping in my head, so I took it super slow. Despite my best efforts, I still accidentally rubbed 2 painted pieces together and got a paint chip. Luckily it's not that big and doesn't bother me. But because the transformation to me sucks, and the paint is so delicate, I don't see myself transforming it too often. Here's a pic, with MP Shockwave as a comparison. Now there's an easy transformation!

With all the gun attachments, I have to say, the alt mode kicks some serious @$$. I'm just too afraid to push the silencer in all the way causing the paint there to chip off. But this mode is a ton of fun.

It's awesome! Sadly it won't be in gun mode for a while. I transformed it back to bot mode, and it's way to much of a pain to transform him back. Wish it wasn't cuz both modes are a ton of fun.

Received the Optimus Prime Evolution 2 Pack. Orion Pax is a fun figure.
