Leakin' Lubricant: Rebirth

So as some of you know I took a break from collecting around this time last year, basically I'd fallen out of love with the Masterpiece line and refocused my interests.

Whilst doing a bit of catching up on newer lines I stumbled upon MakeToys Cross Dimension line and was sucked right back in!

Sweet Iacon what a figure! I absolutely love this guy, I love the quasi Cybertronian look to him, it's kinda how I imagine Transformers The Movie Prime should look, retuning to Cybertonian form whilst keeping one foot in his Earth mode.

He has a great amount of heft to him too, dispite not having any die cast he feels solid as a rock! I even like the windvane rail gun. My only gripe is the lack of a trailer, however I'm sure that gap will be filled at some point.

Now I just need to get my mitts on Rioter.

You've returned!

Welcome back good sir. Much has transpired. MakeToys makes a sweet looking product!

Anything else new in the world of the 501st?!

Thanks buddy, it's good to be back, really liking the Cross Dimensions line, hoping to get Rioter next week.

Still not been on an official troop mate, due to work and family commitments, I have attended a local fundraising event though, raising money for the local park, that was a ton of fun.

WOW! What a figure, he's everything Megatron should be a dark, brooding, bulky bruiser which most importantly transforms into a gun. Another quality product from Maketoys, and the perfect accompinament to Striker Manus.

The name of this thread reminds me of that one scene in the first movie.

Boink!

I like it! However, some of the images have lost their crispness - then regained it by the end of the set above. Something about the lighting? :-?

Thanks, I think the black background is making the the figures look brighter than I'd like. I play around with a few filters to make them pop more.

Thanks buddy! I was initially disappointed with the photos, but a bit of jiggery pokery in the Flicker app got them looking the way I wanted, the background was super easy to do, it's just a sheet of black 5mm foam.

I didn't know jiggery pokery was a thing to do with photos?! Any particular lighting you're using?

I like to think jiggery pokery can be applied to anything ;)

Nothing special or scientific with the light source. Just a sweet source of natural light and a decent amount of room above the knicker draws.

Excellent!! I may have to do something similar. We have a sun room that I used to take most of my pictures in, after re-arranging it I lost the table and vinyl siding background

I can fix up some platform of some sort with a nice solid color background!

Sounds like a plan, I recommend the foam, creates a nice look, it's cheap and you can get a variety of colour.

Next bot through the door is Fansproject Severo, although he's not part of the Cross Dimensions line but I feel the aesthetic matches rather well. I got the DX version with the throne, crown and extra mini dude, because for an extra 20 quid why not?

Very pleased with this guy, very nice figure with a great presence, and the DX version is well with the extra few quid for the excellent throne alone. Now the only problem is I want the rest of them!
