R.A.R.'s Blue Sky Collection Thread

As I don't have any pretty shelves particularly I usually take my toys outside on a nice day and take images of them 1 or two at a time.

So I will share some of my Toys Day trips here.

You may see a lot of Unicron Trilogy toys as that is my favourite era but other things will slip in to the frame too.

--------

NOTE : If the images are proving to large or to slow to load please let me know and I shall run them through tiny pic post them as thumbnails and include the URL for the full image underneath instead.

-----------

I'll begin with Nitro Bumblebee..

Before I attacked him with a paint brush ....

Image

This one has been slightly custom painted (mostly just some paint on the wheels) and a few touch ups on the grey parts.

Image

Image

Image

And some other Bumblebees...

Image

I noticed these guys are more or less in scale with each other :

Image

Trying out some atypical groupings ....

Image

A curious similarity between Overkill and a Jelly Dinosaur sweet.

Image

More later.....

I would recommend this Mould to anyone who does not have it - he's posable and transforms into a jet with minimal kibble.

These are excellent shots of great toys, and it's wonderful to see your passion for them as you pose them and take them out for some air. :D

(No Va'al, toys are not pets, give up.)
(But.. but..)
(NO)

Anyway, yes, welcome to the boards, a great start here - I'm sure you'll fit right in!
And yes, Terradive is excellent. Truly. If you haven't sought it out, try Space Case, too. ;)

EDIT: Ooooh, also: what's your opinion on those two Venom/Spidey toys? Are they as floppy as usual, or do they actually hold up a little better than I've seen around?

Race car Spidey is fine he's not loose at all on either of the ones I have (one red one black), he does however work a bit better if you transform his legs backwards as otherwise the kibble on the legs gets in the way. The worst you can say is his ratchet in his legs might be said to have to few teeth.

Venom has a lot of hinges in his lower body that stack up once they are all plugged in they do stay but he's a bit all over the place until you get the last piece secured.
His arms and legs are fine -the side of the nose of the car can pop out of place sometimes though, in general the Marvel ones have less problems with their joints than the Star Wars ones.

Venom is quite big too almost a Voyager.

Unintended usage ? :

Hey! How is that Evac deluxe? The Legion is on my top ten best Legions of all time list.
Got any cool shots of him in robot mode?

I can give you a quick EVAC photo now - I'll have to hunt for the better pics they are in another folder.

I played a ton of Daytona USA, so this is the first thing that comes to mind... I apologize

Specifically at 1:26 or click here. Warning serious earworm ahead.

Great pics BTW. That outdoor lighting is working wonders.

That was the idea I was indeed referencing that song. perhaps I should put ## ## around the title. ##Blue Blue sky, Blue Blue Sky I see...##

I'd accept that and bat this one back at you..

Listening to them again makes me notice how much they sound like Sonic CD's Soundtrack.

Well that's awesome. I rarely bump into anyone that is familiar with the Daytona USA soundtrack. I played the snot out of Sega Rally on the Saturn. Ok, can I share some of my crazy with ya? I feel that Metallica ripped off the guitar riff from Conditioned Reflex for Fuel.

Some Unicron Trilogy stuff :

Image

I recommend this guy he's much better than the Hasbro one - the Korean one is a good option as it's the same as the Takara one but much much cheaper.
(2nd Minicon/Micron is the kabaya one):
Image

Not his gun But I thought it suited him well :

Image

Seems a little odd in retrospect for a wolf to be called Snarl luckily this is the Japanese one so he's not called Snarl He's called Fang Wolf instead:

I sometimes think this guy manages to look more like a Gorilla than Optimus Primal does.

So very much missing paint ;

Now back to Unicron Trilogy again :

I've always rather liked this Jazz - perhaps because of the accurate stripe deco :

Not so good in robot mode - that head is kinda terrible :
