Found out my CW Deluxe Groove was a scam. I bought it on eBay the night it dropped onto BBTS and Amazon, and the price was on par. And this is like the third eBay scam I've had in 3 months :-x

I'll put this post here as well:

So, now that I finally have a Devestator in hand, I'd thought Id share some thoughts on the big lug, and damn, he really is a big lug. Big. That will be the key word in this post.

Image

I suppose I should mention that this is the Takara Unite Warriors version. Bough during HLJ's sale last week for less than most of you paid for your Hasbro version. The extras on this version are more than worth it.

I just cant' get over how big this guy is. For my tastes, he is actually too big. He stands way out of place in my collection, as you can see. As individual bots, the Constructicons are pretty cool, but still huge. They do fit in a little better than Devy himself, though. I think I'm keeping him, so Ihave to get a new shelf just for him, so he doesn't look so horribly out of place like he does when on display with other bots. I really think that Devy should have been made from deluxe sized bots, not voyagers. Oh, well, whats done is done.

So let's break him down by individual bots.

Scrapper: easily my favorite. Looks the closest to original, and just such and amazing udate.

Hook: again, a great update

Mixmaster: He'd be rated above Hook, but his feet are a little on the big side.

Bonecrusher: This guy is scarlly close to the original as well.

Scavenger: Meh, great figure, but I've never cared for this one.

Longhaul: This dude is just a piece of ****. Serisously, what the hell were the designers thinking? He looks terrible.

Overall, I really like Devy. A lot more than Ithought I would. THe main reason I bought him, is because I realized that the sale price was so good, I'd be able to sell him for a profit on ebay, even with the stupid high shipping costs, for a good deal more than I paid, if Iso decided to.

LIke I said earlier, I think I'm keeping him. Devy is just too unique of a figure to let go of.

Glad you like him. Your main gripe (size) is completely understandable. Which is why my TFC Hercules hasn't been replaced, and why my UW will be hanging with my MP crew.

So, here are my thoughts on Titans Return line, or at least wave one of deluxe class.

Image

Image

I'm not fully sold on the line yet, but Iam in final negotiations on a price. :-D Its not a bad line by any means, but, to me, its not a great line either. It has far more positives than negatives, but the negatives, agian, to me, are quite large and over shadowing. Lets talk about each figure first.

Skullsmasher: This figure looks amazing, but mine is a horrible floppy mess. He will only stand on his own in the most basic of poses. Then, if you give the table he is standing on just the slightest of bumbs, he falls over. He then falls to the floor, landing on his head, and snapping the titan masters little neck. I now have a broken Skullsmasher. :BANG_HEAD: For this reason, he is a complete fail, despite being one of the best looking G1 udates we've ever gotten outside of masterpiece. I hope this is just a flaw with mine, and not common for others.

Scourge: This figure is okay, but not great. The paint job makes him feel dull, and the size feels just a bit too small for a character of Scourge's stature. The face sculpt is great though, really brings out the smug arrogance of him. Transformation is nice, and both modes are designed will, just need more paint detail. I will be looking hard at aquiring Takara's version.

Hardhead: This figure is a great update as well. He needs to be a voyager class, and the visible hollow parts on his arms and legs are a real big eye sore, but his paint job is spot on. He really looks great, and all his joints are, yes, a tiny bit loose, but he can hold a pose so that is really a non issue.

Blur: Blur is **** amazing. He just looks and feels great. Nice, tight joints, a clean and inspired transformation. An overall great homage, aside from the fact that Blur is not a damn headmaster. The only negative is his paint job. Takara looks to have fixed that, but honestly, this is still a great figure. Everyone should have one. I am very surprised by just how much I do like him.

Something to note on this line, is slight the bobble head effect the headmaster gimmick gives all the figures. Not a deal breaker, but it is noticable.

It really sucks to hear about Necksmasher. (too soon? :P )

It's nice to hear some positive things about this bunch. It'll be hard to walk past them as I wait for Takara's.

Well, after a lot of thought, I think the time has come for UW Devastator to go on eBay. I like him well enough, but he just doesn't fit in with the rest of my collection. If only they had made home out of deluxe sized vehicles. :(

Really? That was fast. Why not leave him with your MP's? Or keep him a while so he'll actually appreciate?

Devastator?! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!

Don't sell him. He goes with your MPs as shajaki said. That's where mine is. Fits there just fine ;)^

Yeah, I love you guys, but I'm far more snobby with my standards for the MP shelf.

Devestator is simply too dann big. I like him, I really do, but he feels out of place with what I want my collection to be. I'm working at down-sizing, and giant Tonka trucks don't fit that bill.

Besides, Toyworld is making a Prowl that combines with their Devy.

I respect your M.O. Iron.
But Toyworld doesn't do anything small. Don't you think their Devy will be just as big?

I think it's a hair bigger, but their individual bots look nicer.

It will fit with my MP collection better. Plus, it's cost will keep its completion far in the future.

I just so desperately wish Hastak had made their Devy out of deluxes. Oh well.
