Yup, I took 4 days off this week, will be back to work friday.

And now that I have G1 Megatron with the Japanese mechanism (but US deco), I am wondering how yours works. When you pull the trigger, what happens? Is there a hole atop the barrel, right beneath the robot head when he is transformed? And when you have the accessories in battle mode, is there a sliding piece to the side at the back?

It just clicks.

Is there a hole atop the barrel, right beneath the robot head when he is transformed?
Yes. It's not the barrel, but the main body part. That forms his chest and shoulders. If I'm understanding your question.

And when you have the accessories in battle mode, is there a sliding piece to the side at the back?
Not sure I get this question. :-?

Ok, so you know the hole on the main body (I didnt know thats what it was called)? Is there another one in the back of the stand when ou have it in this mode:

Because at the side, there would be a sliding button. Mine has a spring to fire pellets in that mode too. Dont know how they handled it with the hasbro release since that one doesnt fire.

ALL OF THE PICTURES!!

You have them all over the boards too

I do the same thing :-D

I'm glad you got your Megatron! The only G1 I have is the Takara Chronicles release that came paired with DotM voyager Megatron. Both are pretty cool, and mine has the same mechanisms you speak of as far as firing the pellets.

You know whats cool about your G1 Megs? Thats the deco Japan got back in G1. Hence why when they wanted to show the evolution in the chronicle set, they put that one, so that Japanese fans could see the original. Did you try firing any pellets?

I had to dig out the pieces, but...yes. There is a hole on that piece.
So I am assuming this is storage, or how you load the bullets. I have a very old KO Browning. He fires bullets, and they are shaped like bullets. Are Megatron's?

That piece would also have a lever on the side, does yours have one. Also, isnt that piece attached to your battle stand on your shelf? Because I think its the same piece that folds out the handles for Megatron. Just curious.

And the pellets are ust platic cylynders, they dont look like bullets.

OK, on the same piece I see a slot about an inch long that looks like maybe a trigger mechanism could have been housed in. I think Hasbro just gutted whatever mechanism was there and didn't change the molding in any way.

I'll leave this here for inspiration. ;)

He's ok. His Torso mode is better than Hotspot and Onslaught feels less cheap mostly thanks to the lack of cheese grate chest and squishy ladder. But that vehicle mode is really not happening. Its just a mess and having the back and front switched means we see his robot hands more easily. And him not having a ladder means that the gaps in vehicle mode are more obvious too. I dont think it looks good. Robot mode and torso mode is fine though. I especially like how the combiner chest tabs into the transformed arms, its very secure. And that Bruticus headsculpt is the best we have gotten so far for the character, I think.

Blastoff is a straight up redeco but its a mighty fine one. I will always find it lazy in a way but nothing is lazy about the colours chosen or paint apps. He looks really good in robot mode, better than UW Blastoff.

I can confirm that Brawl's pelvic area is an issue. Not so much in robot mode but in arm mode it just cant support any strain while posing. And the short forearms arent great. Beautiful tank though and a great leg.

Swindle is good all around. Phenominal sculpting. I love the pouches at the sides of the dune buggy/jeep. And I just adore how he has a dedicated transformation for arm mode. Its a gorgeous arm!

Vortex is fine. The headsculpt is great and while the yellow bugs me, the teal doesnt. I love the front of the helicopter, really nice paint detail there.

The paint apps are actually perfectly fine all around. No one seems to be lacking anything. He's a fun mix of molds but its just too bad that most are recycled. The emergency lights from the hotspot mode dont really bother me as much as I would have thought. Especially since they are at the back for vehicle mode and are inconspicuous in torso mode.

Getting UW Computron (already ordered) and I am keeping an eye out for UW Grand Galvatron at the jungle. Nothing I want locally.
