Finally we have a lesbian couple! I have been waiting for this moment forever. This is adorable!

I mean we had Orion Pax and Elita one, Arcee and Cliffjumper, Rewind and Chromedome, Knockout and Breakdown, this whole time I was like where is the F/F couple?

Been messing around a bit with Sky Lynx recently, and I really find myself liking the dude a lot more honestly.
I was initially just into the torso mode - fun fact, soon as I opened him up I blitzed through the vehicle and robot(?) mode before going to combined mode and grabbing some random deluxes. For the most part he stayed that way ever since. Can you blame me though? It's one hell of a combined mode. If you're not fully in love with Sky Reign your heart's made of stone.

But after putting away some deluxes and using him as an individual figure, I'm kind of falling in love with him even more. Leader class and G1 toy gimmick be damned: he looks great, he articulates great, he goes amazingly with Legends and I love having said Legends ride him... he's an absolute joy. Maybe it's just because he's so unique compared to everything else I have; he's just a big dumb space shuttle dragon I can have trash CW Shockwave. Beautiful <3

He looks like a proud papa with a tiny son.

  As is your imagination.

Sky Linx is probably my favorite toy from CW.

Given that Sky Reign (...what's their team called?) is the only full, official CW combiner team I have, I may be biased. But I still love 'em quite a bit.

Heh, I would've loved to get Sky Lynx. If not for the fact that he never showed up anywhere. I'm sure eventually I'll bite the bullet and pay the $35-ish that he's going for but for now I'll live.

If Grimlock is Sky Lynx's son in that picture does that make Rust Dust the Mom? :P

All I can say is if you are thinking you'll bite the bullet someday, do it now before he's $50.

Also, about favourite combiner wars toys, when it comes to dingle figures I think my favourite is Cyclonus, oddly enough. I dont like the robot under a jet thing but the alt mode still looks great and the robot mode is cool and its a great torso too.

I'd honestly love to get a Cyclonus sometime; he seems awesome individually and his torso falls into the same category as Sky Lynx; being right the heck out of nowhere and being really awesome and creative with aspects of the character repurposed in a new way.

Oh yeah of course; didn't mean to worry y'all. It's just a simple mushroom peg, popped it right back on.

Ahh your post had me thinking that you busted the peg holder.

Call me crazy - though it's not like I'll be getting him any time soon - but I'm kind of starting to be tempted by FoC Grimlock of all things. The robot mode looks solid (and close to MTMTE) and the weapons are pretty damn cool.

I honestly have not had a Grimlock since his original G1 incarnation, but yeah FoC version looks great! I bet he can be found for a decent price too.

Ohwaitasec, I forgot about the Platinum Dinobots set I scored at Ross Dress 4 Less....but that Grimlock did not quite satisfy my personal criteria for Grimlock, I guess. :/

I have the Platinum version, and...ehhhh? I mean, he's not terrible, but he's not that great either...

Pretty much this. The robot mode is good I suppose but the trex mode isn't good and it doesn't feel very good. It's the only option for a MTMTE Grimlock though besides the $100+ 3rd party FOC figure.

He ain't bad, but he's not the best Voyager out there. Of course, he's much better than that god-forsaken AOE Grimlock.

K, I'll chime in here. He is a Flimsy McHollowstien. The plastic was cast so thin, and he has some pretty gaping hollow cavities. But he transforms fine, his joints all work, and he's pretty fun to play with. He can hold some good poses thanks to his big feet. And he does look good. I don't mind his dino mode. It's a good looking Rex, but loses a lot of articulation in that mode. Also, a bonus, the sword and shield are dope! I have the G1 deco from a Target box set, and the TAV re-tool.

I feel like you could find him stinking cheap second hand or through the secondary market. If you can find a good deal he's not that bad.

Wait, what? Better than the voyager Grimlock from AOE? I dont feel it. AOE grimlock feels solid and isnt flimsy. he also has a better transformation and a way nicer tail in dino mode (when you just use his legs to form it). That matters to me for some reason.

But AOE Grim's robot legs are too skinny, he has gorilla arms, and his entire dino foot hangs off of his arms.

To each's own. I value transformation and solidly built toys over other factors. And I personally preffer seeing alt mode kibble on the robot (like AOE Grimlock's trex feet on his arms) instead of robot kibble on the alt mode (like Gen Grimlock's robot feet sticking out the back of the t-rex tail).

I have the G1 deco version of both those toys and I find the AOR Voyager better. However, the Takara RID retool into the green grimlock is a better toy than either. They add transformation steps, and build him better (especially around the shoulders) and he looks better in either mode than any of the other grimlocks we just mentioned.

But Kurona, if you ae curious, I am sure you can find a version of that gen grimlock online. He was put in a bunch of two packs that I am sure you can find him being sold individually loose online.

Honestly as said I mostly want him for a MTMTE collection alongside the scavengers. FoC looks closest and is Voyager, and while there is a Planet X version that's a billion times better... well, I might in the future be willing to pay top dollar for a third party main character like Rodimus or Tailgate - gotta be honest, MMC Calidus is quickly becoming a holy grail of mine - but not for a character as minor as Grimlock. Lost Light #1 does seem to be hinting at some higher importance in the future, though...
