I bet you have been busy working on the set up in the Den. Man, that is a major steal of a deal for that Hot Rod. Congrats on that.

Did you happen to find Metalhawk at Walmart? I actually found him about two weeks ago but haven’t seen him since in the store. I still have mine in the box.

Thank you guys!

I did find Metalhawk at Walmart, along with Soundwave, Swindle, and Soundblaster.

I nearly have 6/9 totes emptied, plus about half of what I have bought in the past 2 years down there unpacked. I need to finish this current one cause it seems to be where my missing Predaking and Menasor went, though i still need to find MP artfire, G1 jetfire, Unicron of Light, and Energon Megatron

That is some good finds for sure from Walmart. The Walmarts near my house personally have sucked. When i found Metalhawk, his case mate Twincast was there and that has been the only new thing i have seen in awhile. I told a friend the other day, Legacy wave 1 is still on the pegs. You can still find Kickback, Skids, and Arcee, maybe sometimes Dragstrip.

I will say during my unpacking it does boggle the mind when you cant find something. I ran into that a couple of times myself. Hopefully you get eyes on everything. Glad you are making progress.

Also, the Mandalorian got me to finally get Zeb. And I got another Dr strange to add to the Strange squad!

Afterburner has been one that I have really wanted, so I am very glad to finally have him in hand. These are 4 pretty neat dudes, and their transformations surprised me, they're a lot of fun

Hope y'all are ready for a big-ass post.

This week was a fantastic week.

i ended up getting the warrior Megatron, and he is a joy. To be honest, if he had head movement, he would be superior to the deluxe. He has a waist, more foot articulation, the chest cockpit is real, and he just looks nicer with the paint. Again, I really wish his head moved, otherwise he's nigh perfect for a $15 toy.

Image
Image

I found this Avengers Mech Strike Strike-osaurus line, didn't know it was a thing, and got iron man because he looked like fun, and because Iron man is my favorite superhero and Stegosaurus my favorite Dinosaur. The Stego is really cute, and Iron Man is decently posable. unfortunately, the armor mode has no heels and is very back heavy, so it cannot stand, so I'll just keep iron Man riding the Stego.

Image

Image

I ended up finding all of the RotB toys minus the wave 1 single pack deluxes this week, and it was such a joy to see the toy aisles all movie-fied and ready to go (see below).

Image
Image
Image

I myself ended up picking up all 3 Battlemasters, both of the battlemaster/larger figure packs, the voyagers, the Buzzworthy 3 pack, and the Primal mask. I passed on the beast combiner things because I am not really a fan of how unbalanced these ones look, and the price, and I passed on the flex changers for the price too.

Image
Image

Here is a group shot with all of the RotB toys I have so far, including the SS figures

Image

So, let's roll on some thoughts:

Let's start with the individual battlemasters. I think all 3 are great fun. Cheetor makes a nice sword that goes quite well with the mainline deluxe. Rhinox is my favorite, i love his minigun mode. I may need to get more of him, and i am glad that the 2-pack Wheeljack includes another one of him, i have no problems getting that set. Skullcruncher is also pretty awesome, I like how spiky a gun he forms. All 3 are wings, well done there!

The battlemaster 2 packs are also pretty fun. Prime/Chainclaw is a fun set, I like that we have a chainsaw battlemaster at last, and the Prime is a pretty decent toy too. Surprisingly posable for the kids line. The set is a joy, I do love it. the Primal/Arrowstripe set is also pretty neat, a crossbow was a nice weapon choice, and Primal is good and chunky. I think that all Primal needed was head articulation, and this set would probably have been a big winner for me out of all of the toys.

The Primal mask was a bit of an impulse purchase, as the first store i visited only had the masks, and I was uncertain with my area if stuff would be stocked soon. I really like it. It's actually comfy to wear, and the fact that it transforms without anything really being compromised or getting in the way is fun. It's fun! I like it!

The deluxe 3 pack is next, and it is a decent pack. For one thing, $55 for 3 deluxes, essentially $18 per deluxe, is nice, and they are mostly good. Wheeljack for me is pretty nice, I like how posable he is, and he ends up with almost no kibble. Plus he looks good with the Rhinox battlemaster. cheetor is also pretty tight, I like the robot mode a lot, and the Cheetah mode was obviously compromised some for colors and the gut gun, but it's still nice, and I think both wheeljack and Cheetor could be full priced deluxes by themselves. nightbird is the one weak spot, she feels really light and flimsy compared to all the other figures I have bought. She isn't bad, but she feels the weakest of the group, and for now she gets Skullcruncher.

Finally, the voyagers. I got really lucky with these, found 1 of each on the very top of the walmart shelves. they were $34, which kind of hurts after the deluxes, and to be honest, I am not sure either is worth that cost. These feel more like ~$28 voyagers. Prime is good, but he just feels small and compromised in the paint a little more than I'd like for the price. Primal feels chonkier and bigger, but the simple transformation should have allowed for some more paint, and he sorely needs it. He has so much detail, but a lot of it is lost. also, he needed green eyes. These voyagers aren't bad, i enjoy them! they just feel like they needed to be cheaper.

also put a lot of work into the den, so here is an update on how things are coming together.

finally got my Ghostbusters set back up at last, and the group, including the Ectotrons, Prime, and ghostscream, all look great. this is one of my favorite little collections

Image

Got my Jurassic shelf set up in the Den, and I like how Robo-rexy and JP93 fit in. The work more closely with the Hammond Collection, but they still look nice in amongst a big ole group of dinos.

Image

Star Wars has also come together, but to be honest, I am thinking these guys might be moving, I might have a better spot for the Razor Crest and mando gear, and if those move, I don't particularly want the black series isolated like this where it will ultimately end up surrounded by movie figures. Plus, i pre-ordered the VC N1 and i have 2 Lightsabers to get in there as well.

Image
Image
Image

Diaclone crew looks sharp put together like this

Image

Marvel came together very nicely as well.

Image
Image
Image

Animated has gotten a nice shelf to itself and it looks great!

Image

My CW Magnaboss got an upgrade

Image

That's it for now, The Den is growing closer to being complete!

Looking good D-Max. Really glad to see the collection out on shelves. That has to be a rewarding sight just to see everything displayed out since it was stored away for so long.

Congrats on the ROTB additions.

I bet you are getting anxious in finishing the Den. I was wondering if there was some other shelves you had finished based on what i recall you having. Either way, looking forward to more photos.

I'm very anxious.

My week this week so far has involved swapping my star Wars and Marvel shelves with my MPMs and Transformers prime, I wasn't happy with how things were turning out. But we are passed that, and I am unpacking movie bots now to set up those shelves.

That photo of the container and bots scattered about brings back some memories., mostly good. It was the fun part seeing what had been stored away. I know that is a lot of work but it will pay off for sure. Cant wait to see more.

Nice touch with Ross's flag. Man, it's getting there. After it all gets setup you may never leave the basement, hahaha.

I'm also thinking I might get another Ivar shelf later this year to replace the bookshelf by the Ross flag, there is room there and I may need it for the figures I have located there.

Got an update, the Den is coming along very nicely, and as of last night, the shelves themselves are all populated! I am now working on hanging some shelves and other things on the walls, so I am hoping in the next few days to share proper complete Den pics.

In the meantime, have a pic of the SG shelf and my MP/random extras shelf, which i sort of adore.

In an odd sense, I wish Shattered Glass Devy had gone with either the original Diaclone colour scheme or one that homage Sixbuilder to reference how the chase version for him was just G1 Devy

Welcome... to the newly rebuilt D-Max Den!

It is with great pleasure that I finally get to show you all my Den, finally rebuilt in its perfect form. I am so proud of how this turned out.

Enjoy the show.
