Cary, to be fair, I’m pretty sure Ohio is west and south of the Mason/Dixon line.

Technically Ohio isn't even part of that nonsense. Still yankees as far as I'm concerned ;)

Nuclear waste from America seeping into Australian waterways around Pine Gap?

Well, settlement is in 11 days. The tenants will be out in 5 which means we can move in straight away.

So the packing has commenced. Started with Cybertron. Figured I'd set aside any figures I didn't want so I could trim down the collection.

Yeah ... couldn't do it with Cybertron, it was such a fantastic line. What surprised me the most was Vector Prime's sword. It's notorious for wilting in heat, and despite living in the tropics, it hadn't!

Will bring more boxes home tomorrow to continue. Next on the list is all the Minicons. ugh, that's a headache given how many there are.

You got it?!?!? You got the house?

FANTASTIC! Congratulations Brotherman. So many big lifey changes coming your way.
It's the dawn of a new era for the Thunder Down Under.

Oh man! Packing up the collection! Never an easy task. When's the last time you had to do that?

And...
Damn straight you couldn't part with any Cybertron toys! They're some of the best of all times.

Hoooooooray house!!

Packing up the collection..jeeeeeeez. So the goal is to box things separately that you may not want as well? That’ll be tough. Super tough. Like, makes me want to join in on the boxing of things just so you aren’t alone tough. :D

The last time I had to pack up my collection, for a move, was over ten years ago. It led to me selling off almost 90% of it........

Long story short, I feel your pain my brother down under.

Congrats on the house, though!!

Congrats Burn! And good luck with the move.

And yeah, even though I've not handled that many Cybertron molds, the ones I have have been superb. I sorely regret not getting more of them as a kid.

Oh man, I don't even know what's worse, packing them up or unpacking them. When we moved 3+ years ago I was still wet behind the ears and only had like a 10th or less of what I have now. It was such a pain to pack but I probably went over kill and wrapped each one in paper like fine china.

It took months before I even bothered unpacking.

If I had to do it again I think I'd just bow out of collecting and send them to TFL for milk money.

What's the concensus on packing TFs anyway? How does everyone go about it? Is there a right and wrong way?

All bots in Alt mode. Accessories in smaller box. Tightly packed in stackable plastic bins.

On a scale of 1 to 10 mine is about a 25.

So just in a bin with plastic on plastic and paint on paint? Madness :BANG_HEAD:

You've seen my bots. They're all in good shape, no?
I've moved the bulk of my collection, at least 7 times between 3 states over the last 20 years. It's all good.

The only part of my collection I would move with more care would be MPs. They would all go in their respective boxes, and those would go in bins.
But I didn't even start collecting those until I moved to my current home, and we're probably not going anywhere for a loooooooong time.

I'm just using cardboard boxes, not transforming them, not removing accessories.

The way I figure it, the boxes get carried downstairs straight to the car, short trip over the river before being unloaded straight into the room downstairs.

Some may stay packed up for a while as I sort out shelving.

My biggest headache is going to be the Masterpieces. Might just put them back in their boxes, need to do something truly special for them at the new place.

Congrats and good luck with the move!

When i moved back in March, I put most TFs in alt mode, or in their most compact mode, then loaded them into boxes with accessories going in giant ziplock bags. Never again. That was 4 days of transforming to move and then another week after moving in to get things done up. They all came out fine too, even the MPs who were in the boxes with regular figures.

Next time, it's a big black bag in a box with figures going in gently and being handled with care. That will be much faster

No. Just the thought of doing that makes me anxious.

Personally I think it was fine, but if more were added and the top FORCED on (thus pushing them down) then there'd be an issue.

Last I moved I did the same, though I used Zip lock bags just in case weapons or something came off. That way they didn't get mixed up.

Congratulations on the house!

I have a couple of bins that look exactly like this: Beast Wars, Animated, Unicron Trilogy, Movie. :-s

I used small ziplock bags and packed most of my bots in robot mode. I tried to leave a bit of air in the bags to keep the bots from colliding with one another. Then, I put them in giant bubble wrapped bins. (I knew there was a reason to save all that bubble wrap from my BBTS purchases.) ALl my figures made it out fine. But like cary said, unpacking has been the worst. I am more than 18 months in my new home and only have about 40% unpacked. (Plus, I added PotPie...)

And, indeed, I will add my congrats, Burn. I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out. ;)^

Got back into it tonight, this time the Minicons plus Armada and Energon.

Armada was a bit hit and miss, but Energon stepped up with some fantastic figures. Looking at Energon Megatron / Superlink Galvatron I really am tempted to put together a Megatron/Galvatron "shrine"

Of course looking at Starscream from Energon and the seekers from Armada I'm tempted to put together a seekers "shrine".

Oh and soon after I started, for some reason CW Computron decided that would be the appropriate time to fall off the back of the shelf, onto the floor, and take a few other figures with him.

Eek! Sorry to hear that, hope nothing's broken. I have found that even in neutral poses/with big stable feet that the CW gestalts are a bit unstable. Something about the slight "give" in the hip ratchets combined (no pun intended) with the weight distribution.
