Not getting four seasons.

It really sucks living in Texas, where I don’t get to enjoy four distinct seasons like
everyone else. Wish I could move up north. What are seasons like where you live?

I'm thinking about moving to a state where you get four distinct seasons. What are the best states to go?

I live in Texas too, Dallas area. Really, the only season I'm missing here is Winter. At best, we get a single day of snow, and it's gone the next day. The summers here are murder with 100+ F usually, but this year, thanks to the hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, the weather here got screwed up so we had lots of rain, and lower temperatures. Happy Day!

I'd love to go to Iowa for proper winters, but my wife hates the cold. :(

Here in WA we have rain, rain, rain and more rain. Sometimes we get a weird summer where it will be very hot (Or at least hot for us in the northwest) This year I think the weather has just been all sorts of screwy for USA. We had a heck of a hot summer complete with forest fires and tons of smoke. Outside smelled like a campfire for about 2 weeks. Yuck.

I live in the far north. Here's our seasons:

January-late April: Cold, dark winter

First two weeks of May: Snow melt and flash floods

May-September: Forest fires :michaelbay:

Rest of the year: Cold, dark winter

It's best here in New England. You get all four seasons, no tornadoes, no forest fires, no damaging earthquakes, maybe a hurricane every few years, sometimes a blizzard or a nor'easter, and no venomous snakes. I couldn't see myself living anywhere else.

I wouldn't mind living in Maine or New Hampshire, but Boston is a sh*thole. I would never live in that cesspool.

South Carolina winters are pretty sad, though not as bad as I imagine in Texas.

Last time I saw real snow hear was like 2001.

I was around Columbia back in '07. I remember seeing flurries around the beginning of December.

But they didn't stick, so I guess it doesn't count.

Here in northwestern Indiana, we get this glorious thing off of Lake Michigan called "lake effect" snow. Makes for fun winters.

Here in Southern Canada we get all 4 seasons! I love fall and winter, when it snows at night the moon shines off the snow and its like a beautiful golden glow! its sometimes so bright it looks like early morning. I love it! I highly recommend checking out Niagara Falls on the Canadian side in the winter, the falls are frozen and we have lights and even light up the falls, so beautiful! since I live basically across from Buffalo NY they have pretty close to the same winters. Also here in Ontario we have already had some snow back in late Oct, I was sitting in a t-shirt outside last week while it lightly snowed =P~

Don't move to Minnesota. Like Texas we only have two seasons. Winter and Summer. the seasons of Fall and Spring dont exist as our springs and falls are either too cold, or too hot. So we just to from Winter to Summer.

It still has to be better than 4 straight months of 100 degree heat, like down here in Georgia. I've been contemplating moving to Northern Minnesota or Western Washington. I love snow and cold doesn't bother me.

Actually Spring lasts about 2 weeks here and fall can last several weeks depending on the weather patterns. Still feels like neither last long enough because Winter and Summer are big jerks in GA.
