If you had some type of alien encounter, whether a proximity sighting (where you're closer to the ET than simply seeing in the sky) or even an abduction, but it didn't last long enough for people to notice, nor was there noticeable change/damage to you, would you keep it to yourself, and let life go on uninterrupted, or would you go public with it and try to deal with the aftermath, whether from the authorities and/or the media, or just from friends and family?

I'm probably keeping that to myself. No one would believe me, so why try honestly. Plus, it could easily be one of those things where I could see myself thinking it was my imagination, dreams can be really real, and sometimes real things hard to separate from dreams if it's crazy enough

You wouldn't worry about possible damage done to you, even if you don't notice anything different right away? No urge to go to the doctor to get checked out? I mean, I guess you could pass it off as a routine physical.

I'd probably lie somehow to get a good checkup done, but I wouldn't mention aliens at all

Everyone knows "aliens" were just spy planes, nothing more, nothing less... right? They were during the Cold War, nothing but a coverup devised by the government to save face rather than admit they've been compromised and appear weak. >:oP

I wasn't talking about specific incidents. If you want to argue that there's no intelligent life outside of our planet in our galaxy, much less the rest of the universe, I'll have to disagree.

I'm with you. The galaxy is so ridiculously large, with billions of stars and trillions of planets, that the statistical chance of our planet being the only one that features life is so small, it might as well be zero.

Intelligent life at the same time as our existence is a slightly different matter though, given the small timewindow (on galactic scale) that humanity has been active.

IF alien life-forms have actually been observing our planet for fairly close they would need to have incredibly advanced tech, not only to travel around, but also to stay hidden from all the surveillance we put up, both in the air and in space, continuously observing our surroundings.

I do believe in (intelligent) alien life, just not the kind "revealed" during the Cold War. >:oP

If I did come across one, I would hide it, really. Far too many glory hounds around, plus my father-in-law is obsessed with the Ancient Aliens show and driving me bonkers with it. :BANG_HEAD:

Merry Christmas to you all!

As I sit here watching it, I'm starting to think that Die Hard 2 is even more a Christmas movie than Die Hard.

The McDonald's around me got rid of the breakfast bagel sandwiches. I'm sad.

McDonald's and Burger King no longer carry grilled chicken sandwiches, so we have to go elsewhere for my mother-in-law's fix.

@D-Max: If there's a Sonic near you, they should still carry chicken wraps, crunchy or grilled. Lettuce, tomato, mayo, my go-to for a lighter lunch.

Never been to a Sonic, not sure if I've even seen one either

How about A&W? Almost the same thing. Sonic is the southern version. (Having grown up in Northeast Ohio, I prefer A&W.)

Really? They're all over Ohio and Indiana and pretty much the Midwest so I figured you at least drive by a couple of them. Anyway, it's a drive-in place the root beer brand was named after. When I was in high school, they still had the girls who waited there on rollerskates, but that's been 20 years so I doubt they do that anymore. It's a good place to eat.

I actually came across one inside an outlet mall in Southern Missouri, much to my surprise. My wife loves the A&W Root Beer, so I'm familiar with the brand, just didn't know there was a restaurant with that name. Didn't know what to think of it.

So I just reread this page and now I'm gonna have the chicken wrap from Sonic for lunch. And if they don't have them, Firehouse subs is the next option. Firehouse makes amazing subs.

Sonic got rid of the Chicken Wraps in my local area! That has been my go-to choice for so long! :-( Luckily there's still the Grilled Cheese Double Burger (it's just a patty melt, really. Ultimate comfort food), but that's a temporary item. When it gets discontinued, Sonic may lose my business altogether...

Yes, I found out about the wrap the hard way. I wasn't in the mood for the grilled double (plus I'm working on cutting beef and pork out of my diet altogether) so Firehouse came to the rescue. When it comes to subs, they blow Subway out of the water. And like you, I find little to no reason to go Sonic anymore, except maybe the tater tots. I'm a fan of fried potatoes in most forms, and in potatoes in general. Probably the most versatile food there is.

*Sings obnoxiously.*

You planned a trip to Idaho
Just to watch potatoes grow
I understand how you must feel
I can't deny they've got appeal
Whoa
You like them whether they are plain or they're stuffed, oh yeah
Better face the facts, it seems you can't get enough
You know you're gonna have to face it
You're addicted to spuds

Yeah Weird Al is always reliable.

And I would love to move to Idaho. Salmon, Twin Falls or Coeur d'Alene. I hate the South.

My wife and I came across an old Cotton Patch gift card the other day, unused from last year  So we decided to go there, and tried two of their new menu items. She had the Chicken Fried Brisket (you read that right) with the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce (again, you read that right), and she was in love with it. She's a sucker for brisket and barbacoa, and the crispiness added so much to it. I had their Mango Habanero Tenders, and WOW were they HOT! I love spicy foods, but wow, just a bit of the glazing already made my tongue tingle!

Should you have one in the area, try their Fried Green Tomatoes. So good.

Looks delicious! we have our own recipe for Jambalaya but I might incorporate some of this into it to see how it tastes.
