Yes, and rightfully so.
I’m a G1 fan that has never demanded or wanted everything to be G1.
But when figures of G1 characters are made,
I want them to look G1, not “G1”.
Ah yes, because how could I forget that the only thing that is truly G1 is the animation error that is Bombshell's Sunbow bot mode colors, and not his G1 toy, packaging art, comic appearances, and/or his alt mode colors in the same show. That's clearly why every iteration and appearance of Bombshell that's ever come out since the Sunbow cartoon has made him that iconic grey, right?

Oh wait, not a single use of the character since Sunbow has been grey, because the Sunbow grey is incorrect and he's supposed to match the other 2 Insecticons.

Unless you have a suggestion for how he's supposed to change colors when he transforms in a way that doesn't compromise the figure, so you can have your animation error and I can just skip that step and leave him correct in both modes?

Error Bombshell could be an easy exclusive or a Select that would shelfwarm like Red Swoop did.
Just sayan'.

They certainly could do that, that thought also occurred to me, but I'm concerned they wouldn't.
-The fact that they used the picture of Error Bombshell for the pipeline insinuates to me that that's the one getting the mainline release
-I don't know if they would go for a "Toy Colors Bombshell" as a separate release when there's only 1 color that's different and there isn't an existing other character to repurpose it as (like how the Sweeps are Toy Colors Scourge)
-They also have mentioned multiple different times now the idea of completing "all 7 Insecticons", so between that and all the recent Diaclone updates, there's 3 more reuses of the mold that I think are more likely to happen before a second Bombshell

Also, doing them separately would force the maximum-Sunbow-accuracy crowd to buy both figures to simulate the fact that Bombshell somehow changes color, which kinda sucks for them.

The only thing I can think that would really solve this in a way that benefits everyone is if they implemented a Selects Super Megatron reversible chestplate, so he actually can change color? But I don't know that they'd have the budget and dedication to actually implement that on a new mold mainline Deluxe in wave 4 of the line (...although he was probably meant for Wave 1 of next years line, so maybe?).

Well, they did it for Menasor.

And if there is such a variation, I hope they actually call it Error Bombshell.

Man, I dunno how to feel about those 2 packs.

Miner Megatron looks really nice. He is the one of the 4 that I really want. They did him really good. And I will use him as Terminus on my Lost Light shelf.

Ratbat is OK, but I don't really want another Sweep mold, and i have the Cybertron Ratbat repaint, and that one rules hard.

I really do not know what to think of Shockwave and Orion Pax.

Shockwave is a great concept that I love! But that mold is... ehhhhhhh. Not sure that was the choice.

Orion Pax similarly is very odd. i wish they had retooled the jeep cab to make it lower or something. He just looks off.

I did get Megatron on the amazon price screw up. i am still undecided on Shockwave.

As for the Nova Prime in the background from GU Optimus Prime, that one I am SUPER stoked for!

I completely understand only wanting parts and pieces,I think a lot of fans do, especially when it comes to Amazon exclusives. You can either purchase the set and sell off what you don't want. Or hope to find a seller that is selling only the thing you want at a decent price.

A third option is to hope you can find someone here who will agree to split the content and cost the way you both want evenly.

I've done all 3 actually.

Fortunately, neither of these sets are in my area of interest. However I thought it was mentioned that there was going to be a 2nd set of wreckers? I still would like to get a diaclone colored Topspin at some point.

Yeah in my case I ordered both sets but I only really wanted Ratbat and Shockwave. Luckily I work with someone who is also a fan and he gladly accepted the deal to get Megatron and Orion. I've done several sets like this with him, so I don't have to deal with online payments and shipping issues.

The good thing is, if you find emgo's style to be abrasive you can always skip to the end. He says he got Armada Prime from BBTS. I checked and their pre order page for that item is currently sold out. But occasionally he will pay premium shipping to get items earlier from places like Robot Kingdom, CMD store etc.

Yeah, I'll wait for someone else to review the figure. Emgo is abrasive, to put it mildly. Besides I already got Prime preordered at Amazon and if he was bad enough to cancel the order it will be on the boards soon enough.

I like Emgo just fine. Not sure what about him is supposed to be "abrasive" but to each their own.

That Armada Prime though. That REALLY is a must buy!

Maybe some don't like his running gags?
Anyway, he's my favorite reviewer for regular figures, especially the JTR for the most complicated ones. As for the oddballs and kid-stuff, Baltmatrix and Chugg are unbeatable.

I'm finding it a bit hard to understand how emgo can be abrasive. He's always got the mildest takes on everything. And he's the best at showcasing the figure's features. Plus, his silly skits are easy to skip.

I guess it could be his particular eccentrics? It is tough to be entertaining and informative with revies as senone's view on what's "entertaining" differs from the rest. As said it's easy to skip past the skits and simply be informed about how it transforms comparisons to other bots or previous version, when done.

I'm curious if anyone has ever performed ahead transplant?
I was thinking of swapping Laser Prime's head from some other bot to make it another character, and quite frankly I'm tired of seeing the same Prime design over an over. lol One's that came to mind are Soundwave from Bumblebee, DK-2 Guard to keep the expense down and to maintain similar deco to the body so no painting is required.
Thanks.

Apparently some of the gets/sees-figures-early crew on TFW are alleging that they've already seen Shadow Striker and there's a MS Paint sketch of what she supposedly looks like floating around (which could be legit between how many of them are parroting it and the fact that we've kinda seen Trashmaster already), and according to that she got the Skyquake fusion treatment, so she has the head, colors, and possibly back kibble of Cyberverse Shadow Striker but also the overall design of Universe Shadow Striker/RiD Side Burn? No mention of accessories or alt mode yet, but also the sketch is missing the RiD/Universe design's big dumb roof kibble shield so who knows how they've made it transform (again, assuming it's legit).

o.supreme wrote:However I thought it was mentioned that there was going to be a 2nd set of wreckers? I still would like to get a diaclone colored Topspin at some point.
I think I remember the developer behind-the-scenes for those sets saying they were interested in doing more "if these sets are well-received and sell well", so I would guess either they didn't sell well enough or they didn't have conclusive sales data in time to get more Wreckers out this soon.

Dunno how emgo is considered abrasive at all.

Besides, he got his from BBTS, and I have seen people on twitter, including a buddy, who got theirs last week. They are out there.

If they really did do Shadowstriker as a fusion of Universe and Cyberverse, I am going to be very disappointed.

I never felt the need for the DNA Design kit for my Menasor. But he definitely needed a gun aand a better sword. So I bought the 3D printed gun and sword for Menasor and he's perfect. Ironically, they were almost as expensive as the DNA Kit, but those are more than enough.

But from the reviews I watched I'm confident I'll find it's a worth-while purchase.

Don’t hold your breath though…
I have 2 and a half more days of teaching high school left before summer break…
Then I’m going to melt into lounge mode for a couple days before a 5-day family trip to Chi-town…
Once we’re back, I’ll start thinking about considering the possibilities of doing anything.
Including anything TF-related.
People, the reels, TikTok’s, and posts about how rough it is being a teacher…
They’re all true…. Not all specifics apply to all teachers…
But damn, so much of what I’ve seen applies… And has now for years, even we’ll before the pandemic.
But that’s a completely different topic for a completely different forum.

I will throw out a brief review of that upgrade set once I’ve got it all out together.
I’m looking forward to it.
