If that was somehow enough to make the Cybertron cartoon a sequel rather than a restart against all empirical evidence in the story, I'm sure that any day now, we'll get an official explanation that it extends beyond the Unicron Trilogy and fixes every inconsistency in Aligned.

As for Girmlock's new persona...is anyone else reminded of that weird pattern Renegades had of making some of the less memorable white guys on the Joe team black, then immediately killing them off, leaving you to wonder if they were really trying to make the Joes more diverse, or someone behind the scenes just wanted to intentionally invoke the "black dude always dies first" trope? Granted, making bit players blander and more forgettable than their ARAH incarnations was the more prevalent pattern, and this Grimlock probably won't get killed off anytime soon, but that's what it makes me think of for some reason.

Maybe it's just that this happens to be the last weekday for the HUB. sigh.

The Unicron Singularity wouldn't extend to Alligned because Alligned is allegedly not part of the same multiverse as everything else, though there's some things that indicate this mighthave changed. But trying to invoke it would just make things more confusing.

Grimlock reminds me too much of Cyborg to remind me of anything else. Why didn't you switch it up a bit, Khary?

The Hub is dead. Long live the Hub. Though it was taken from us too soon, the splendor it brought us will never be forgotten.

I don't want to be defeatist or Negative Nancy, but a part of me is bracing for a lower quality show than what we got. Prime had a ton of problems and I really don't want R15D to inherit them. Though chances are the sequel show won't address answers such as these, it would be nice to know...where is Shockwave? Where did Megatron go off to? Will Soundwave every leave the Shadowzone? Could we get confirmation that Starscream is indeed dead? Did Jack and Miko get married? Will I ever find my true love?

I'm excited, yeah, but I'm also going to be cautiously optimistic.

Kinda yeah, ever since James Roberts made him likable.

Personally, I like AoE Drift. It's the perfect representation of how I see the character in the comics. God I hate comics Drift. I think I'm going to go grab that AoE deluxe Drift I saw!

Its not going to be great, but:

1. Bumblebee appears to make a better leader (already) then Rodimus. (i hate Rodimus)
3. Its more on par with 'Animated', than its namesake
4. It continues the "Prime" continuity, which i think is spiffy

Yeah, its gonna be hard getting over that Grimlock voice though.

I've lost hope that any Transformers cartoon will be near flawless. Now that I've been exposed to more fantastic storytelling on TV, I've come to realize that all Transformers cartoons basically suck. Prime, for all four of its flaws, is the closest to an all-around amazing show as Transformers can and will get. G1 was terrible, Beast Wars (while good) butchered most enemies and wasted too many characters in favor of overdone archetypes, Beast Machines (again, while good) took a giant oracle-sized dump on some of the storylines Beast Wars wrapped up, the Unicron Trilogy speaks for itself, the first RiD was the most forgettable series in existence alongside Animorphs, Animated was mediocre at best, and Rescue Bots' writing is textbook. There's no doubt in my mind that this new series, unless the writers pull something amazing out of their asses, will join all the other Transformers shows in having one or multiple flaws that drag it to the pit. Overall, Transformers cartoons disappoint me, and I feel like this new series will be a disappointment as well. The name's already a great start.

it would be nice to know...where is Shockwave? Where did Megatron go off to? Will Soundwave every leave the Shadowzone? Could we get confirmation that Starscream is indeed dead? Did Jack and Miko get married? Will I ever find my true love?

Questioning his religion, Webworld, no, no, no, and no.

:P

In all seriousness, if the show gets renewed for a second season, the writers said that they are going to be bringing back characters from Prime. Hopefully, this will lead to wrap-ups of loose ends left at the end of the series.

wow.
the style reminds me of energon/cybertron. only better in terms of animation. they move pretty fluidly. as for grimlock's new voice i was eeehhhh...but it won me over pretty quick. strongarm is abit bland. but i'm sure the voice actress will get use to it and get better. sideswipe as a ninja? sure, why the hell hot? i ain't got no beef with it. kids love ninjas. bumblebee? wow. i actually like him ! the voice for him is top notch. and that minibot was funny too. the voice acting is pretty well done!

as for bisk, yeah. i wasn't annoyed at all. really. i found the banter pretty f'n funny. i hope to see him more in episodes. cant wait for his legion toy. god i pray we get him in legion. humans weird me the hell out. the whole robot in disguise line was like "oh its corny. but its good corny." i can imagine a kid getting excited as hell. the tone of the series to me is a bit of fresh air. dont get me wrong, i loved prime and its dark seriousness. but its a nice change for a light tone of a transformers series. and even though grimlock just ran along side the robotcars, not giving a **** people would notice...yeah...i jus shrug and i'm "sure, why the hell not? not like G1 didn't do dumb **** before." guess i'm just used to silly things that dont make sense.

as for grim's decepticon logo, guessing he lost his memory or was brain washed. i can see this show can give great story and character development. the personalities on these guys are alot of fun!

I think there is a room for old characters - but mostly in cameos. I'm mostly courious about Megatron reapperance. Also, I want that Airanchid finally meet demise. Even if her current situation is a fate worse than death.

You must have a big heart, and I mean that in the most sincerest of ways. However, I think some people need to stop with the racist" witch hunt". Perhaps, people ought to utilize context clues to understand what I meant by "ghetto" subculture. That has absolutely nothing to do with RACE, itself. I hear plenty of white and Hispanic people sound like ghetto trash- and it's not like they were taught to talk like that at school. I can use other words to describe what I was talking about: " Hollywood Hip-hop sub culture" , " trend slang", " anti-intellectual movement" . So perhaps, one shouldn't be so quick to accuse someone of being a "racist". In fact, as a minority, I've experienced true racism in different parts of the Country and oversees. So I apologize if when my statement hits some people in bleeding heart, I know they mean right ; but the fact of the matter is, they turned a character into a rip-off caricature . It's like turning Super Mario into a California surfer dude with blonde hair. It's just stupid and a cheap way to get more $$$ . It's just like what Michael Bay did with Skidz and Mudflap in ROTF - stupid stereotypes utilizing the colloquialism a popular subculture. Characters are who they are. I think changing the character is an insult to the original fans who kept the franchise alive for 20+ years, new fans who watched the old show, the writers of both the show and comics, Gregg Berger ( who voiced Grimlock ), and my basset hound that I named Grimlock! Why not just call him Grimhop, or Grimload, or Ghettolock - seriously. IF it's not the character- give it a different name!

That was some expert use of Google and Wikipedia there, Metalogan. Made you sound real smart. I'm relieved to know that you're only prejudiced against us ghetto trash, and not just blacks. Whew!

But you didn't mention Asians in your ghetto checklist. Does that mean that Asians can't be ghetto, or that you've just never been to Central New Jersey in all your world travel? Please, tell me. I'm dying to know. Knowledge is power. And you are one powerful dude.

okay, okay. enough with the racist accusing crap. i have to say this, but people who talk like that have been and will always be seen as unintelligent to me having to put up with kids back in school talking like that, mexican using the N word ect ect. annoying as hell. but besides my opinion, you have any idea how African-american can be so damn racist against their own race just because they dont talk like them? with the street slang and whatnot? they see black people who 'talk white' as offensive and will treat them badly. very very badly. blacks can be racist against blacks because of the way they talk. and what i mean is normal talk.

but then, i've always seen street slang as a form of stupidity. a black person why actually talks normal and is highly educated can get alot of crap from his or her own people. and dont you dare call MEracist. i've been it happen to a friend of mine whose going to collage, and was actually physically harassed for talking 'like a white man'

other then that, i dont hear 'ghetto' with grimlock. i hear an accent, but not what metalogan thinks. but i can understand where he's coming from.

Yeah, re-watching both clips again, Grimlock speaks neither unintelligently nor with any slang. It's just an accent. And if one finds his accent offensive, then that's just plain wrong.

Having a sword =/= being a ninja.

So he has some fancy kick moves, big deal. Prime Arcee did too, yet she wasn't a ninja. It just means he's nimble and agile.

His faceplate is just an Optimus Prime-styled one colored. Strongarm has one too, with hers being dark gray.

Not to mention that his colors and anime hair make for a pretty outlandish design that would pretty much defeat the stealth quality of ninjas.

We already know what kind of character Sideswipe is: A rebellious pretty boy teenager.

heh. besides the ninja vibe i got from him, i can see him as knockout's straight brother. or so my headcannon will now deem it so. just the way his mannerisms and that smirk reminds me of knockout. so, yeah. in my head they're siblings. >:oP but enough of my geeky side.

Each and every last one of you over the age of 12 that has a complaint about this show needs to just STFU! Seriously, if all you can do is bitch about a KIDS cartoon then you need to go get some counseling and re-examine your sad, pathetic existence on this planet. You people are the reason I have begun to hate this franchise more and more. The so-called fans are killing the Transformers experience even faster than Hasbro itself is. I genuinely pray each and every day that a race of giant robots actually does exist and comes in and wipes out all human life because so many of you are proving just how sad and worthless and stupid the entire species is. :HEADHURTS:

I can't believe I'm doing this, but here I am: doing this.

Most of us are just worried that R15D won't bring anything new to the table outside a mediocre plot, semi-forgettable characters and missed opportunities. The title alone seems to imply that Hasbro thinks they can just recycle old tropes and hope/think we won't notice. Bumblebee, to me and several other people, isn't the most interesting character to focus on. I don't hate him, but he's just so...bland. He's not interesting to me, but maybe, just maybe, this new series can change my mind.

Just because something is for kid's doesn't mean it can get away with poor plot, illogical decisions, stupid marketing and sup-par anything.

He STILL hasn't given Burn his Metroplex? Jeez.
Now that I think about it, didn't T-Macks give some bull**** reason for not paying up? I remember him saying something along the lines of "The Generations Arcee isn't a TRUE G1/CHUG Arcee!" (Even though it's almost spot-on to the cartoon asides from the colors, which were fixed with the Takara version.) He's too cheap, so he kept moving the goalposts.
Also, ranting at us for debating about toys on a TOY COLLECTORS' FORUM is petty and inane as hell.

You're forgetting "What are the Predacons up to?" and "How's Knock Out getting along as an Autobot?"
When you think about it, Sideswipe really looks like Knock Out, however, I hope he isn't him. And KO was kicked out from Autobots shortly after Predacon's Rising. I want him to be a villian in new series and beign defeated by Fix It just because it's fun  !

The clips show that Sideswipe isn't Knock Out.

There is none, but I wouldn't be surprised if Knock Out struck out on his own after PR. He didn't adopt Autobot values because he believed in them; he switched to the winning team when his own was defeated. Even then if he stays he's doing it for his own self-preservation than because he thinks they have a point.

We still haven't seen anything so I can't say I won't give this a chance. Who knows how good it could get, but these two clips alone weren't very entertaining to me at all. The human animation and the animation in general is just too cheap looking for me.

Of course it'd only be to cover his skidplate, but why would he not stay? It's not like they'd stop giving him his share of energon, and he's got nobody left to prove anything to. Why run off to fend for himself rather than stick around and have someone else to hide behind, or at least to provide cover fire for him, when the scrap hits the fan? And personally, I think it'd be interesting to see how he's adjusting, and maybe even if his new team has rubbed off on him any (probably not, and if so probably not much, but anything's possible).
