If Takara wanted to go for the cartoon look, they should've at LEAST retooled the helmet for Blaster to not have the mask.

Except, Takara isn't treating this as Blaster's cartoon body, but instead as a new body he got after the cartoon.

And I've already explained/speculated as to what Takara might use the visor helmet for.

Yeah but most people are going to just see it as the G1 toy with the G1 cartoon colors. Who not go with one version?

Because retooling one "insignificant" part just for a minor look tweak isn't worth it? TakaraTomy is already retooling the Titan Masters representing the first series of Headmasters as a whole, no exception. Since they didn't feel the need to retool the helmets of Galvatron and Super Ginrai, why bother with Broadcast if it has a basis in fiction? Hybrids aren't that uncommon you know?

Super Ginrai might possibly have a new helmet, but if he does, he's a super important main hero character who gets that kind of treatment anyway, so he'd be an exception to the norm like with the main Headmasters.

I am really not certain of that. My assumption is that he is getting less remolded parts than Takara's Nosecone. They arent turning him into God Girai, just Super Ginrai, so he probably wont be as extensively remolded as we think.

And even if Takara weren't to remold him at all, just doing him as a straight redeco instead, he'd still be Super Ginrai since that cab + trailer combined robot mode was his Double On configuration.

Yeah, it really highlights the differences in Takara and Hasbro's separate philosophies. Takara goes for what's toon-accurate - whether it looked good or not - while Hasbro goes for what they think will look good and appealing while still capturing the essence of the character. It's not a case of straight-up better and worse like say, CW Optimus Maximus vs UW Grand Prime; it's just whichever you prefer

In this case, both Hb and Takara's look BOSS! takara more on the anime, Hb more on the Sunbow or mix and match. Still both versions are awesome.
