Weird, cause this toy is not a shop exclusives for Walmart, Target and other such places that have no presence outside the US. It's available (or will be available) at most online collectible retailers. Only in Japan is it an exclusive, but it's online for anyone there to purchase it.

It was an anecdotal tangent, that Jet/Skyfire was not a part of. Which is why he wasn't mentioned by name.

What really stands out to me is that this MP Jetfire has a lot of the similar gaps in jet mode that people complained about in the Siege version. MP Jetfire is a little more slimmed down and slightly more streamlined. Though I have to say that it’s definitely the articulated small bots that interests me most here. I know it’s not cartoon accurate but I love Siege Jetfire’s huge arsenal.

Just preordered him from Robot Kingdom and it came out under $300 shipped
that almost seems too good to be true haha

Skyfire is only $214.63 on Deep Discount. At that price I can cancel my BBTS pre-order, lose my deposit and still save around $30.

Well, it transforms just about how I figured it would. I do like how they worked a Gerwalk joint into the legs just for that mode. The storage is great for those who don't keep boxes but for me, I'll probably keep one face and one faction plate on and the rest will be in the box. I do feel that the weapon storage is a veiled nod to the Strike VF-1S, which was the actual release of the Macross toy in Japan, Hasbro swapped to a custom-colored set of Fast packs.

A few of you have written in letting us know of a video review for Transformers MP-57 Masterpiece Skyfire / Jetfire. This is from Wotafa, a Japanese reviewer, who was given a copy by Takara. The review of, of course, in Japanese, but it gives us a detailed look at all that this toy brings to the table. What might be most important though are the comparison shots since it shows that how MP Jetfire scales with the Autobots and Decepticons is different than how Hasbro interpreted the scale in the Siege line. For instance, Optimus Prime barely makes it higher than his waist in the Siege line, but in the MP line, Optimus goes much higher, reaching just below MP Jetfire's torso area.

Honestly, I think it's the head sculpt for me. The actual face is fine... but he's got some Mega Mind going on... and I can't un-see it. I was also hoping his facemask/helmet head was going to be a *lot* better.

The masterpiece figure actually has the correct scale. The Siege figure is much too large.

Is it how they're only juuuuust low enough for them not to look too awkward?

Looking at some G1 cartoon videos, he's very screen accurate, but I don't think screen accuracy works as well in this case. His torso seems too squat and wide, and I like him with his shoulders higher. The toy does look like a lot of fun though, especially with all the compartmentalization his backpack can do. It's neat to see such a well thought out gerwalk mode, down to the ability to make some great stances displayed in that mode. The little mini-figs are also fun with the articulation they have.

Maybe? I am not a fan of the G1 cartoon model, so that may be playing part too. But the arms do look off

MP-57 Masterpiece Skyfire / Jetfire has been released in Japan and fans are getting their hands on him. One of them is fellow Seibertronian Logan, who gives us a full review, in Italian.
