Just out of curiosity how many people here are from broken homes, or are seperated from their off springs other parent- Just a little topic id like to bring to light, its something that can cause a lot of confusion and maybe seibertrons members can lend each other some support. Its worth considering

My parent's got divorced when I was 3.

I lived with my mom until I was 17 when she decided to ditch my brother and I.

We had to move in with our dad who didn't really want us there.

It has been an up and down thing ever since.

My dad ended up kicking me out because I wanted to go to college.

I lived with my grandparents for awhile, then got kicked out for smoking pot(which I don't!!)

My dad surprisingly let me back.

It's a rocky situation here now...

I broke up with my little lads mom when he was two-he is 5 now and things are going ok.....although she has just moved the two of them in with her new boyfriend, so god knows what will happen next-it probably wont be nice, but we will get through it

My parents (who had a bitter marriage of infidelity, physical abuse to both mother and myself) split when I was 14 and they were married for exactly 15 years (I think the last argument they got in was because my father beat me so badly that I could not attend school for a week)... They argued and made me feel as if I were the reason so not long after I tried suicide twice (still have the scars on my wrists to prove it). I then failed 2 grades in school because I honestly did not care about nothing but hanging with my friends and getting laid but I eventually snapped my ass into shape.. After graduating high school I met the woman who would be my future wife and we started dating. Then we were married and my first daughter was born. I swore to myself that I would never do the things my parents have done and so far I have not.

Some 22 years later I am a happy 36 year old who has been married for almost 15 years with 2 kids. Of course as I said I do not do all of the cheating and abuse that was done by both of my parents before their divorce.

So don't let the "so called experts" tell you that you will follow in your parents footsteps, if you have the determination you can mold and shape your own destiny.

I never got to go. I couldn't afford to go to Kent State like I planned on.

My on and off girlfriend is separated from her daughter's dad. It's a good thing too because I'd end up killing him, he is a very abusive person and that really doesn't sit well with me.

My dad walked out on my mom the day after my younger sisters turned 2, December 14th 1981. I was 3 and a half at the time. He left because he was an immature jerk who couldn't handle being a father. He had beaten my epiipticate sister cause she wouldn't stop crying and was listed in the state computers for that one. He'd pick me up by the ankles and throw me on my bed. My other sister (with out any health problems and also my father's and his fater's favorite) never got hit, never got punished for anything. Not even for staeling nearly 15 thousand dollars through forged checks and fraudlent credit card usage. Hell, I was nearly knocked off an 8 foot fence onto solid cement trying to get away from him one time because he got pissed at me over a lie my sister told.

Still, that's easier than how my mom was raised. Her parents had a "shotgun" wedding that didn't last long. Neither parent wanted her and she was raised by her grandparents until she was 11 and they died. At that point she was put up for adoption and was raised by the state of Illinois until she was 18.

The worst of it was that to keep us kids on health insurance, to spare my grandfater's feelings and pride, and to keep me in my grandfather's will they stayed married until 2 years ago, after my grandfather's death, and as it turned out I didn't inherit anything because at my dad's suggesting the stock I was supposed to inherrit was sold to pay for my favored sister's wedding, honeymoon, and finished paying off her and her husband's house.
